Timeshare is maturing as an industry and the need for the major player to change is very evident. IT is also time to change the way things are done. I personally believe that Timeshare owners are poorly served by the exchanges and the rest of the travel community. Partly this is caused by the disparate and diverse structure of the industry. TImeshare owners all belong to an exchange that is supposed to represent them. But I have yet to see a coordinated effort by the exchanges to effectively secure preferred airline rates, car rental rates, insurance rates for the members.

Now I have a bias. I created an airfare program for timeshare owners that would allow them to collectively bargain for better rates. It is called Intellifares. But I have also worked in the past trying to effectively change the structure of the timeshare system most notably with the Yunnan Tobacco Company in China five years ago. I highlighted what I thought were evolutionary practices that the timeshare market should embrace in order to be more efficient and effective.

I applaud you blog as being one of the few communication tools that serves owners. ARDA, RCI and II need a lot of help in this regard.

Keep up the good work.
