Timeshares, a Matter of Life or Death

Author: Jason Tremblay

The question comes up from time to time, “what happens to my timeshare when I die?” It’s not a topic most people like to think about, but it is a valid and responsible question that many timeshare owners want to know.

Some timeshare ownerships end when the named owner dies; many however, do not. Obviously, if you have the right to pass your timeshare deed on to your heirs, you may simply leave it in your legal will to the person or persons you specify.

Your heirs will then become the owners (although a name change on the deed will be necessary) and as the owners, they will have both the rights and the responsibilities, including that of paying the maintenance fees and taxes, for that timeshare unit or interval. Whatever fees you paid as an owner, your heirs will also need to continue paying if they inherit your timeshare.

Timeshare owned by persons who die without specifying an heir, or owned by persons who have not prepared a legal will, become part of the probate estate.

The Timeshare Sales Alternative

If you are a timeshare owner who has reached a point in your life when owning timeshare no longer fits your lifestyle and you are concerned about what will happen to that timeshare in the event of your death, you may want to try to sell your timeshare now, before it becomes a responsibility for others to address.

Some timeshare sells quickly. But not all timeshare is easy to sell and in a competitive market, you have to be willing to price your timeshare aggressively. However, before you make any decision about your timeshare, I urge you to talk both to your attorney or estate planner, and to someone who specializes in timeshare resale, like the experienced team at Sell My Timeshare NOW.

A Sell My Timeshare NOW resale specialist will help you understand your choices for how to sell timeshare; including whether to use a timeshare broker assisted sale or to sell by owner. He or she will also help you determine the market value for your timeshare, and give you realistic feedback about which properties are selling well and at what price.

And lastly, here are three important things to know when you are considering selling timeshare:

  1. Don’t be duped by headlines that say it is impossible to resell timeshare. Sell My Timeshare NOW receives an average of $1 million in offers to buy or rent timeshare every day—365 days per year.
  2. Don’t make an on-the-spot decision. No one at Sell My Timeshare NOW will ever pressure you to decide what type of timeshare transaction is best for you. We will advise you based on our experience, but the decision-making is, and should always be, up to you.
  3. And lastly, never sign paperwork that you don’t fully understand.

Timeshare ownership is great, right up until the moment it becomes a burden or a responsibility without benefits. If you find yourself in this situation, we will do everything we can to assist you. Call us at 1-877-815-4227

Orlando Timeshare Helps You Hold on to Harry Potter Magic

Author: Staff Writer

As Harry Potter fans in London rolled out this week to view the final movie in the magical saga, emotions run high with many fans. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” is movie number eight in a series that has captured hearts, imaginations, and wallets in a way that has been both epic and mind boggling.

The Harry Potter movie series, featuring young Harry, Ron and Hermione, has already translated to more than six billion dollars for Warner Brothers, and billions more in the sale of branded merchandise. J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, has become the first billionaire author in history as a generation of children discovered the joy of reading as they followed the events of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

But in addition to the joys of reading and watching the Harry Potter books and movies again, or visiting Pottermore, the in-development website where fans and fanatics can enjoy an online interactive experience, there is one more way for Harry’s followers to get their wizardly “fix”; they can visit the Harry Potter™ theme park at Universal Studios Orlando.

Harry Potter Theme Park and Your Orlando Timeshare Vacation

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ provides fans and followers a way to “step into” Harry’s world, visiting the shops of Hogsmede, dining at Three Broomsticks and the Hog’s Head, and walking past the gates of Hogwarts castle, or through the classrooms at the academy. With rides, shows, and interactive experiences, park visitors sip their butterbeer and immerse themselves in a park that brings the beloved characters (and their nemeses) to life.

Orlando timeshares offer many great locations for planning a Harry Potter experience but some of the closest timeshares to Universal Studios Orlando include the Westgate Palace timeshare resort and Bluegreen Orlando’s Sunshine Resort timeshare. Pottermaniacs may want to select an Orlando timeshare within walking distance of the Universal Studios theme parks. Another option is to ask if the resort where you buy or rent timeshare is served by a shuttle to the popular parks, as many destinations are.

The beloved Harry Potter movies may be coming to an end. But as long as Universal Studios Orlando offers The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you are just a timeshare away from the series you and millions of others have come to love.

Timeshare Alleviates Problems That May Happen with a Home Away from Home

Author: Staff Writer

Renting a private home for vacation has always been an option and some people feel that vacationing in a private home is in fact, a real home away from home experience.

But a recent article in SouthCoastToday.com (SouthCoast 411) brought attention to some of the pitfalls of renting privately and planning a home away from home vacation. The article advises consumers that they should “exercise caution to avoid falling victim to a scam.”

Vacation home away from home scammers may use photos and names ‘stolen’ from other website to create an online ad designed to trick vacationers. They will take your money to rent a property to which they have no access and no authority to rent.

Even when you are not being deliberately scammed, privately renting a vacation home can leave you dealing with problems that no one wants to face, especially during vacation time.

  • What if the property owner’s idea of luxurious or beachfront differs greatly from your own?
  • Will you have someone around to assist you if the air conditioner stops working or the plumbing backs up?
  • How secure is the home and how safe are you when staying there?
  • How clean is the home?
  • Do you have adequate bed linens, towels, and other necessities?
  • What is your liability if someone gets hurt on the property during the time you are vacationing there?

Timeshare Rentals Eliminate Concerns

Let’s face it, no one wants to spend his or her vacation in a substandard venue or dealing with a backed up toilet. Renting timeshare directly from the current owner is a easy way to enjoy the spacious accommodations of a timeshare condo while feeling safe and assured that the property is secure, maintained, and should any dilemma arise—has staff on hand to solve the problems for you.

Find out how easy it is to rent vacation property by talking to the timeshare rental specialists at Sell My Timeshare NOW. 1-877-815-4227

Timeshare Jobs May Be Easier to Fill Though New Service

Author: Jason Tremblay

Timeshare companies looking to hire new employees may find the job easier with expanded features from TimeshareStaff.com

Considered the leading online job listing service for the timeshare and fractional industry in recent years, TimeshareStaff.com is introducing new Corporate Recruitment Packages. Paul Mattimoe, president and CEO of Perspective Magazine, points out the advantage TimeshareStaff.com offers because, although it is a separate company, TimeshareStaff.com is owned by the same individuals who own Perspective Magazine.

“Our multi-level online strategy produces thousands of qualified applicants for our clients each month globally, helping them fine tune their sales and marketing departments, contributing to millions of dollars in sales each year,” said Mattimoe. “Once a job is posted, it is not only exposed globally on our core websites, we list it on our dedicated Timeshare Staff Facebook page and Twitter account, which combined reaches nearly 15,000 potential candidates and we list it on our Perspective Magazine website too, providing outstanding value to our advertisers.”

TimeshareStaff.com can receive online, applications for timeshare and fractional jobs; prescreen applicants according to employer-set criteria; and then provide the company seeking to hire with the information via email.

Don’t Overlook Timeshares

For job hunters, the timeshare industry may be overlooked, especially in view of the tendency by some new outlets to paint a picture of the industry being locked in despair and gloom. Instead, people looking for careers, should consider that timeshares are an industry in evolution, changing to better serve the wants and needs of vacationing families.

Although tomorrow’s timeshare jobs may ultimately look quite different than those today, one appealing quality will remain the same. Timeshares and timeshare resales, offer a great opportunity for people looking to enjoy relaxing vacation time and beautiful destinations, and bringing that component to people’s lives is a always gratifying and rewarding to those who help make it possible.

Enjoy Your Timeshare Vacation and Don’t Miss the New Rules of Sun Safety

Author: Staff Writer

We’d like to say we are quoting Kurt Vonnegut’s well-known address to the 1997 graduating class of MIT but, of course, by now, most people recognize that as a well-effected internet hoax.

However, regardless of whether the legendary author actually said it, the advice remains accurate: Use sunscreen.

Plan a sun-filled timeshare vacationIn the past month, the FDA has begun instituting new regulations for sunscreen manufacturers regarding how they market their product. The FDA fears the current labeling is confusing or misleading and with melanoma, primarily caused by sun exposure, on the rise, the labels need to be as clear as possible.

The FDA is instituting new regulations governing how sunscreen manufacturers can market their products. Apparently the FDA is concerned that the way the labels are written now is confusing and misleading, which means people may not be getting the sun protection they think they are getting.

Here’s what has been concerning the FDA. While most sunscreens with a high Sun Protection Factor (SPF) protect against ultraviolet B rays, not all offer protection against ultraviolet A rays which are equally a problem when it comes to skin cancer.

With the new standards, sunscreens that do not offer protection against both ultraviolet A and B rays, and that have a sun protection factor below 15, will have to carry a warning label that reads, “This product has been shown only to help prevent sunburn, not skin cancer or early skin aging.”

Products that offer protection against UVA and UVB rays will soon be labeled “Broad Spectrum” to make it easier for you to pick them out. After all, if you are going to use sunscreen, and we all should, you want to choose one that is offers protection against both painful sunburns and the threat of skin cancer.

More tips on sun protection:

  • Ignore the promise of waterproof or sweat proof sunscreens. The FDA thinks both claims are dubious and will soon make manufacturers stop making them. They will be replaced by statements about a product’s water resistance.
  • Apply your sunscreen daily, especially if you live in the Sunbelt States. You receive more cumulative exposure than you realize just in your daily routine.
  • Apply sunscreen to dry skin and reapply throughout the day.
  • Wear a wide brim hat and clothing that protects you.
  • Don’t forget your sunglasses.
    • And from all of us at The Timeshare Authority blog and Sell My Timeshare NOW, we wish you safe and sunny summer holidays.

Timeshares and Breaking Free of the No-Vacation Nation Status

Author: Jason Tremblay

As we celebrated the land of the free and the home of the brave, did you realize America is also known as “the no-vacation nation”?

Of the 33 richest countries in the world, the US is the only country that has no legally mandated paid vacation time for its workers. Now before we go any further into this discussion, let me say that I am not advocating for or against mandatory vacation laws. As important as it is to improve this situation, I think the US federal government has issues to deal with that are more germane. I am talking about personal lifestyles and choices we all make that have a dramatic impact on our health and well-being.

What Makes Us the No Vacation Nation? The average American has 9 days of vacation time. Fewer than 10 percent of Americans take a full two weeks of vacation time annually.

Why? Well most of us don’t want others to perceive us as slackers. We don’t want someone to show us up on the job while we are away. We are afraid that things just can’t run without us or we don’t want to deal with the backlog of work that will be created by our absence. Moreover, roughly 25 percent of Americans have no paid vacation time at all.

If we as Americans were bad about taking vacation time before, we are terrible about taking it now that the economy is rough and for many, employment feels as if it hangs by a fragile thread.

Changing Your Life, for the Sake of Your Life

Medical research supporting the mental and physical health values of taking time for yourself is shocking. You add years to your life and life to your years when you take time off from work and get away from your routine.

Although this can be very difficult to do, we are happier, healthier, and more productive for taking vacation time. And in the same way that opening a savings plan that automatically debits out of your paycheck or bank account makes it easier to save money, many people find that making the commitment to vacation ownership makes them more likely to carve out vacation time for themselves and their families.

Have a great summer, and if there is any way the vacation experts at Sell My Timeshare NOW can help you in finding affordable deals on timeshare resales and timeshare rentals, or learn more about timeshare resale financing, please contact us toll free at 1-877-815-4227 or from outside the US, a toll call to: 1-603-516-0200.

Author: Staff Writer

Wyndham Oldtown Alexandria timeshare resale. If you have never been to America’s capital for the July 4th celebrations, you really owe it to yourself to do this at least once in your life. And Washington DC and Washington DC-area timeshares make it easy to do and easy to share this patriotic experience with your children and perhaps grandchildren.

Must-See and Must-Do During Your Alexandria Timeshare Vacation

You can take in a lot of Independence Day fun on July 3rd,, at the National Mall when the Capitol Fourth Concert rehearses, including the National Symphony Orchestra. It’s minus the fireworks you will see there the next night, but offers a great opportunity to enjoy the music tune up in a smaller crowd and less distracting atmosphere.

You can watch the Washington DC Independence Day Parade on it parade route along Constitution Avenue and 7th to 17th Streets. The parade starts at 11:45 AM on July 4th. Or for a parade with a hometown feel, check out the Palisades Parade. If you arrive early, you can even participate in the fun and walk as part of the parade; no preregistration is required.

And of course, what you can’t miss in your July 4 holiday celebration are the fireworks. Scheduled for July 4 with a rain date of July 5, the biggest show in town kicks off at dark, around 9:15. The pyrotechnics are launched from beside the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and create a spectacular backdrop for the Washington Monument.

Best locations to view the dramatic display are: the US Capitol, anywhere along the National Mall from the Capitol to 14th Street, Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, East Potomac Park, any of the rooftop bars in Washington DC, the FDR Memorial, the rooftop of the W. Hotel (which requires tickets for admission on that night), from a river cruise on the Potomac River, or from across the river at the United States Air Force Museum.

Timeshare Industry Welcomes Newly Launched Lubner Group

Author: Staff Writer

Timeshare industry welcomes Lubner GroupThis week we welcomed a long-time friend to, and member of, the timeshare industry, Dan Lubner, officially returning to the industry he never really left. With the formation of the Lubner Group this spring, Dan Lubner, principal and CEO will now lead a team of experienced interior design and resort renovation experts in providing service to hotels, condos and timeshare resort properties worldwide.

The principals of the Lubner Group primarily were associated with Robb & Stucky, a name well known to many consumers and to almost everyone in the timeshare and hotel industries for excellence in design/renovation projects. As Dan explains, “We enjoyed wonderful experiences with Robb & Stucky’s Hospitality Design Division and appreciate being associated with such a legacy brand, which had been in business for 96 years before closing in March. With the operation of the Lubner Group requiring minimal overhead, we are now able to provide the same level of quality services at highly competitive prices.”

Currently in the works for The Lubner Group are projects in Las Vegas, Sanibel Island and Key West, Florida, all great timeshare destinations.

Steve Lubner sums it up well, saying, “We believe the hospitality and resort industries offer significant growth potential and emerging opportunities as the economy moves forward and capital expenditures – which have been deferred for the last few years – will support additional growth. Projects previously placed on hold are coming back online as hotels and resorts upgrade their furnishings and fixtures. Shared-use properties have reserves built into their annual operating budgets for design and furnishing replacements, regardless of the economy. We plan to take advantage of these opportunities.”

The Lubner Group is headquartered in Fort Meyers, Florida, with an office in Orlando.
