Breckenridge Grand Vacations gets final approval for timeshare at Peak 7

Breckenridge Grand Vacations will be able to begin construction on a new timeshare resort, commencing this summer. Construction of the new vacation ownership property will be at what is known as the Bergenhof site, located at the base of Peak 8.

Construction of the five-story, 75 timeshare unit resort building, along with the related amenities, will move ahead now that the project has the final approval needed. With a unanimous vote on Tuesday night, March 5, the Breckenridge Planning Commission, removed the final hurdle in the project’s development.

Breckenridge Grand Vacations co-owner Rob Millisor described the steps taken to get to this point as a long process, but says, “But I think we designed a development that the town’s going to be very proud of.”

The timeshare property’s design was one of the stumbling points along the way, necessitating that the designers and architects for Breckenridge Grand Vacations timeshare redesign the building multiple times before coming up with a plan that satisfied all involved. Specific considerations included the need to ensure that views from other nearby condos weren’t block and that the final design fit the master plan for the base area.

As planning commissioner Eric Mamula said, “I think this is a project that fits in the community.” Clearly many in the Breckenridge area think so too, as the crowd in attendance at the meeting this week were said to broken into applause when the votes were counted and it became clear that project was now approved.
