International Timeshare Appreciation Day

Saturday November 2, 2014 marks the 3rd annual International Timeshare Appreciation Day. Created by TimeshareInsights.com, International Timeshare Appreciation Day is a time for both the industry and owners to celebrate the world of timeshare.

Lisa Ann Schireier, the founder of TimeshareInsights.com and The Timeshare Crusader blog, started the holiday back in 2012. At the time Lisa said, “I invite people and organizations from around the world to join together and celebrate all the great things about timeshare… and there are many.”

The purpose of Timeshare Appreciation Day is spread positive experiences related to timeshare and vacation ownership. It is unfortunate that the overwhelming majority of timeshare news from the media is negative. Why only focus on the negative when there are so many positive experiences too?

Even when it comes to timeshare resale, typically the media only highlights timeshare scams. While it is important to warn buyers and sellers of scams, consumers need to know that there are reputable companies out there. Companies such as SellMyTimeshareNow.com that are helping real buyers and sellers with legitimate transactions.

Schireier shared, “I’ve been in around the industry for 14 years now and each year I’m disappointed in the negativity surrounding the product as well as the well-meaning but not very effective public relations efforts being made by the organizations whose very existences depend on a better acceptance of timeshare. I just got tired of waiting for someone else to do it, so I took it on.”

This year, many timeshare resorts have signed on to participate including All Season Resort, Lake Forest Resort, Stoneridge Resort, Voyager Resort, Nautical Watch, Camelot Resorts, and more.

We also encourage the industry and owners to observe Timeshare Appreciation Day and promote positive timeshare news. If you are participating in the event, tag the Facebook group International Timeshare Appreciation Day and hashtag #Yes2Timeshare on Twitter.
