ResorTime Donates $2,500 to Therapy Horse Ranch

Four times a year, Grand Pacific Resorts’ rental division, ResorTime, donates $2,500 to a chosen charity through their philanthropy program—beCause Destination Matters.
Through this program, ResorTime invites both Grand Pacific Resorts owners and vacationers to vote for one of three charities to receive the donation. This past quarter, vacationers voted to donate $2,500 to Hunkapi Programs. This Scottsdale-based organization provides therapy to children through horseback riding.
On September 18, 2015, Director of marketing at Grand Pacific Resorts, Renee Wagner, presented the check to Terra Schaad, executive director of Hunkapi, at their stables in Scottsdale.
Schaad shared,“We are humbled and grateful. It was an afternoon of pure joy. I want to thank ResorTime for what you do and for considering us in your contributions.”
Visiting the Hunkapi stables inspired ResorTime to create a new booking offer, called “10 for 10”. With this offer, 10% off bookings will be donated to Hunkai , while guests save 10% off their stay. Through 10 for 10, ResorTime hopes to raise another $2,500 for the organization. This will provide an additional 30 hours of therapy time to a child.
Wagner said, “Hunkapi touched the hearts of the people who matter to us, and we wanted to do more than just write a check. We were thrilled when we realized that the Figueroa family lives in the area and could benefit from Hunkapi’s services.”
Also while visiting the resort, Wagner met with Renee Figueroa, a cancer survivor and mother of four children with special needs. The Figueroa family participated in a therapy session on the day of the donation ceremony. Grand Pacific Resorts also provided the Figueroa family with a week’s stay at the Grand Palisades Resort & Hotel in Carlsbad, California back in May 2015 through their program Send Me On Vacation (SMOV), an organization for breast cancer survivors.
Wagner shared, “Our giving program, beCause Destination Matters, is special because it supports the causes that matter to our owners and guests. It provides everyone an opportunity to give back at any level.”
