Timbers Resorts to Renovate the Ocean Course at Hokuala

Timbers Resorts

The famous oceanside golf course at Hokuala is about to get even better. Timbers Resorts, an independent developer that manages private residence clubs across North America and Europe, has announced they will implement significant upgrades to the Ocean Course at their Hokuala resort.

The extent of the renovations include an expansion of the course’s practice facility, groundskeeping improvements, a new clubhouse with a pro shop, a restaurant and bar, and tennis courts. These updates come to a course that is already a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, meaning residents at the resort will be in for a unique and luxurious golfing experience.

While Timbers Resorts has already updated the turf and sand bunkers on the back nine holes, the work on the front nine holes is underway. The full course is slated to reopen in November of this year, with alternative tee boxes set up around the back nine holes in the meantime to accommodate those who seek to play a full 18.

Timbers Resorts is bringing in Fran Roach, an experienced general manager in the golf and hospitality industry to help complete the project. Their goal is to make Hokuala one of the top golf experiences in the world.

Founder and Executive Chairman of Timbers Resorts David A. Burden said of the project:

“We look forward to continuing the legacy of this amazing course by improving playing conditions and introducing contemporary upgrades and modern comforts for players…the Ocean Course upgrade will raise the standard of the game available on Kauai, providing moth travelers and the local community with an unparalleled golf experience that not only meets the needs of experienced players, but also provides an enjoyable experience for families and those new to the sport.”

The golf course will be just one of many luxurious on-site amenities at the private residence club, joining the property’s shopping village, health spa, lavish restaurants, and wedding venues. To learn more about Hokuala or the Ocean Course renovations, visit Timber Resorts’ official site.
