AMResorts Adds Six New Rainforest Alliance Certified Resorts in 2016

AMResorts® proudly continues its commitment to sustainable practices with six of their resorts achieving Rainforest Alliance certification in just this year alone. With these six new certifications, AMResorts has grown its sustainability program by over 30 percent, with a total of 25 resorts certified in Mexico and the Caribbean.
To get this special certification, the individual resorts much show their commitment to conservation through minimizing their environmental footprint while supporting local culture, workforce, and the surrounding community. The audit for the certification includes the assessment of the following standards: protection of nearby ecosystems, wise use of natural resources, climate change mitigation, and benefits to the social and cultural development of the surrounding communities.
The resorts that have received the Rainforest Alliance certification this year include:
- Secrets Playa Mujeres golf & Spa Resort
- Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana
- Breathless Punta Cana resort & Spa
- Dreams Los Cabos Golf Resort & Spa
- Now Larimar Punta Cana
- No Garden Punta Cana

AMResorts has engaged its resorts in many green initiatives as part of the Rainforest Alliance program. This includes the celebrating of environmental holidays, coordinating beach clean-ups, limiting excess water by recycling on-property, and protecting local wildlife.
The latest resort to earn the Rainforest Alliance certification is Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resorts, which also was awarded the Travelife Gold. This international sustainability accreditation is for the management of social and environmental impact in various travel destinations.
