Viva Wyndham Resorts, Wyndham’s collection of all-inclusive properties in Mexico and the Caribbean, has plans to renovate their popular Cabarete, Dominican Republic property. The Tangerine resort has been undergoing a $9.5 million renovation to update accommodations and add more on-site amenities. The resort will reopen to guests and owners on December 18th.

Among the additions included in the renovations, a new room category was created by Viva Resorts to appeal to families. Dubbed the “All Together Room,” this unit type will consist of two separate living spaces perfect for up to five people. Each of these rooms will include in-unit amenities like flat screen TVs, king and twin size beds, a mini fridge, and even Xbox game consoles. The existing unit types at the Tangerine will also be updated with new accommodations.

A new guest room building is also under construction, which will provide the resort with 30 new ocean view rooms. Located by the pool with a view of the nearby beach, the new building will join the other existing ones in providing guests with upscale accommodations like private terraces that look out onto Cabarete Beach.

Finally, the resort’s grounds will undergo some slight transformations as well. The resort’s main bar, lobby, and guest service area will receive some improvements, as will the Tangerine’s swimming pool. Also planned for the resort is a new on-site restaurant named Melt. Melt will specialize in providing a la carte dining options for guests and owners.

While other areas of the resort will remain unchanged, the Tangerine by Viva Wyndham Resorts remains committed to providing excellent all-inclusive amenities. The Tangerine’s biggest asset, the beachside location, is still available for guests to take advantage of, as is the live entertainment areas, the fitness center, on-site sauna, and others.
