National Timeshare Owners Association Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The National Timeshare Owners Association (NTOA) is celebrating 20 years of its service as North America’s largest and oldest independent owner association. Over the course of two decades, the NTOA has educated timeshare owners on their ownership rights and helped optimize the use of their timeshare ownership.

The NTOA formed in 1993, originally named the Maryland Timeshare Owners Association. In 1997, the group expanded to serve a national group of owners, and since then it has been a trusted source for timeshare-related support services. NTOA offers a toll-free (844-ASK-NTOA) help desk for alternative dispute resolution.

After 18 years of service, the NTOA was awarded the prestigious “Cornerstone Award” at the Canadian Resort Conference in Vancouver B.C. in 2015. The award was presented to NTOA for its development of an owner support program with the Canadian Vacation Ownership Association. The association also received the “Ambassador” Industry Award at GNEX 2016 for owner educational programming.

“As we begin our celebration of 20 years of service and reflect upon our active and historical owner engagement, this is truly a significant milestone for us due in large part to the devoted support of our longtime members and volunteers in the timeshare community,” said NTOA CEO Gregory Crist.

In the past few years, NTOA has taken their efforts a step further by developing partnerships with leading industry associations, including CVOA, TATOC, and C.A.R.E. These collaborations are intended to provide affiliate resources and added benefits to their already-thriving services.

Moving forward, the NTOA is interested in creating even more partner opportunities to grow along with the evolution of vacation ownership programs.

“We’ve participated in a number of conferences and speaking engagements with owner groups that incorporate materials from the latest ‘Timeshare Owners Study’ produced in collaboration with INTUITION. The industry analysis covers virtually every facet of timeshare ownership in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The study lays the groundwork for the next 20 years and beyond,” reveals Crist.
