Wyndham Worldwide Announces James Savina as General Counsel for Wyndham Destinations

Earlier this year, Wyndham Worldwide announced its decision to separate Wyndham Worldwide into two independent, publicly traded companies. Wyndham Vacation Club, a member of the Wyndham Worldwide corporation, has just named James Savina as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for the new company, Wyndham Destinations.

Wyndham Destinations is the first of two independent companies to be created following the separation from Wyndham Worldwide, the largest vacation ownership business in the world. It will be a vacation ownership, rental, and exchange business for timeshare owners. Savina’s role in the executive leadership team will allow him to oversee all legal services of the company while also acting as corporate secretary and chief ethics and compliance officer.

Before joining the Wyndham team, Savina held the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary position at The Kraft Heinz Company. His crowning achievement was his pivotal role in merging the Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz companies, followed by leading their company’s combined legal department. Savina was also previously the Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Office for Kraft Foods, Executive Director, Global Legal Investigations & Legal Operations for Avon Products, Senior Counsel and Director of Claims and Legal Administration for Energy Future Holdings, and Associate for Jones Day.

President and CEO of Wyndham Vacation Group, Michael D. Brown stated:

“Jim has a broad and diverse background, with expertise in guiding large companies through extraordinary change while building and strengthening legal, compliance and governance functions. I’m confident that Jim’s capabilities will strengthen our leadership team and the vision we share for the success of Wyndham Destinations”
