Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Strand Capital Group have announced plans for a new timeshare resort in Hilton Head Island.

Strand Capital Group will assist Hilton Grand Vacations Club in the development of the new resort, which will offer a variety of timeshare ownership options.

As the timeshare and hotel industries continue to expand, resorts are focusing on a younger demographic — Millennials.

Recent studies have shown that the average timeshare buyer is younger and more tech savvy than in the past. Resorts are responding by making an effort to attract this target market.

Marriott is one of the first hospitality groups to focus on the younger generation. Their newest resort, the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon was built with the intention of attracting Millennials. The new 220-guest room hotel is the first in a series of 100 resorts Marriott plans to open in the U.S. over the next year. It’s been a year since the Hilton Grand Vacations Club opened the doors to the Hokulani Waikiki timeshare resort, and in that time the resort has received much praise for its sustainable practices. Most recently, the Hokulani Waikiki earned a LEED certification for its eco-friendly design, operations, and construction procedures.

The LEED certificate is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to acknowledge companies that go above and beyond to implement green construction and building practices. [Read more…]
