Sell My Timeshare NOW Has Raving Fans

Author: Jason Tremblay

We hear from many of our clients, praising our team at Sell My Timeshare NOW and Timeshare Broker Services. They call, email, and write us letters telling us what a good job we did and how they appreciate our service. But Jill’s letter stood out–actually Jill stood out.

Not only was she a lot of fun to work with, but she was upfront in telling us that the bad reputation of some timeshare companies made her nervous to do business with ANY timeshare company.

We understood. So we tried to do everything we we could, just as we do with all our clients, to assuage her concerns, eliminate her anxieties and ensure that she and her family enjoyed a vacation that was all that they wanted and more than they expected.

Jill is a delightful client and we are proud to be able to serve her. And she is far from alone. We serve many wonderful Jills… and Jacks… every day.

In a world where “thank you” is no longer said enough, we’d like to proudly share Jill’s  comments with you, and to say: “Thank you Jill and thank you to all our clients for entrusting us with your business and giving us the opportunity to help you make great vacation memories.”

Good Morning Mr. Tremblay,

I just wanted to take a moment to commend your rental staff at Sell My Timeshare Now.  To make a very long story short, I am extremely reluctant to use just any timeshare rental due to the many scammers that exist in the timeshare industry today.

Although, when our family decided we wanted to go on a vacation and rent a timeshare I knew my choice would be your company.  Due to the fact, two years ago I had the pleasure of working with Beth Breton and Mr. Curren and we had a tremendously happy experience.

For my new rental, to be used this summer, Mr. Curren went above and beyond to assist me and providing me in great hands with Wesley Figueroa.  Wesley and Mr. Curren went above and beyond to help me reserve the rental location my family enjoys visiting in Orlando, FL (Marriott’s Harbour Lake).  I contacted them numerous times to make sure everything was ok and to be reassured that the rental I was paying for would be legitimate.

I did have another rental company (timeshare) alternative to rent from, even at a lower price, but my choice is and will always be to rent from your company, due to the comfort of knowing you have a reputable company and there is always someone there to assist me as well as the exceptional customer service provided by your employees.  I know we will have a wonderful summer vacation thanks to your outstanding staff.  I will definitely be a return customer next time a fun and relaxing vacation is calling our name

Respectfully,

Jill S.

Now Why Haven’t You Rented Timeshare

Author: Jason Tremblay

So much of what most people hear about vacation ownership focuses on buying, selling, or reselling timeshares. But the timeshare industry, including those of us here at The Timeshare Authority blog, doesn’t talk nearly enough about the opportunities and advantages of renting timeshare.

In addition to timeshare brokerage services, we offer Vacation Specialists to help owners find a renter for their unused weeks. But you may not be aware that these same Vacation Specialists also help vacationers enjoy some of the most spacious vacation accommodations available, at  prices that blow hotel rates out of the water.

If you are planning a vacation and you’d like help with finding a timeshare rental, you can call us at 877-884-9577 to speak to one of our Vacation Specialists. We’ll help you with everything from picking which destination, which resort and which timeshare unit size will best fit your needs.

Then, you’ll need to submit your payment information (credit card data), and sign and return your rental agreement.

When the agreement is received, we’ll email you an electronic receipt, which means your timeshare rental reservation is 100% guaranteed. Within 10 business days, you will receive a confirmation letter with record of your name on the resort reservation, although a small number of resorts do not release rental confirmations until 30 days before the check-in date.

Sound easy?

It is. And with those simple steps, you can be enjoying a roomy timeshare with multiple bedrooms, multiple baths, TVs in each room, and often full kitchens as well as washers and dryers. We can even assist you with last minute rentals because sometimes, even though the early bird gets the worm it’s the last-minute planner who gets the rock-bottom rental price. And who wants worms, anyway?

Contact us at 877-884-9577 or at www.timesharebrokerservices.com/renters to get started planning your next vacation.

Wyndham Timeshare Expands Support of PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage Golf Tournament

Author: Staff Writer

Wyndham Vacation Rentals, part of Wyndham timeshare, has expanded its relationship with the RBC Heritage golf tournament, one of the most popular events on the PGA Tour tournament schedule.
Scheduled for April 9-15 at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this tournament has more than 40 years of golf tradition behind it, and is being co-sponsored this year by Boeing and the Royal Bank of Canada. ResortQuest(R) by Wyndham Vacation Rentals, part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands, will sponsor the general spectator bleachers on the world-famous 18th green at Harbour Town Golf Links, a course designed by Pete Dye with the assistance of Jack Nicklaus.

Because this tour stop venue is so relaxing and family-friendly, many of the participating Tour players’ family members accompany them to this event. Scheduled each year to follow the Masters, the tournament at Harbour Town is anticipated by Tour players as an opportunity to both play great competitive golf and unwind a little from the pressures of the previous week.

Like the golfers on the PGA Tour, you and your family can enjoy the relaxation and charms of Hilton Head with Hilton Head Island timeshare resales and Hilton Head Island timeshare rentals, where the beaches are beautiful and the golf is great. Harbour Town Resort and Harbour Town Yacht Club are only two of the many area resorts where you can take advantage of outstanding resale and vacation rental prices.

Arnold Palmer won the inaugural tournament at Sea Pines, taking home $20,000 from a total purse of $100,000. The winner of the 2012 RBC Heritage Golf Tournament will take home his share of the $5.7 million prize money. And you and your family will be winners every time you enjoy the great deals on Hilton Head Island timeshare resales and rentals.

Author: Staff Writer

Island One Resorts timeshare, an Orlando, Florida-based resort developer, has selected Orange Enterprise Suite from SPI Software.

Island One Resorts CEO Sterling Stoudenmire says, “We selected SPI as best-in-class to handle all aspects of existing operations including sales and marketing, central reservations, PMS, resort operations, and web-based access to reservations and account management for our owners. We believe SPI Orange is the platform to support our forthcoming products and services, as it has the flexibility and full range of functionality required to enable our strategy. It was very important to us to purchase enterprise-wide software designed specifically for timeshare resorts, but with the flexibility necessary to drive continuing innovation.”

Island One Resorts operates Club Navigo and manages eight Florida timeshare resorts including:

Miami Timeshare

The Crescent Resort on South Beach

Orlando Timeshare

Barefoot’n Resort

Bryan’s Spanish Cove

Ormond Beach Timeshare

The Cove on Ormond Beach

Naples Timeshare

Traveler Confidence Projections Good for Timeshares

Author: Jason Tremblay

Information collected in Travelocity’s annual Traveler Confidence Report shows 53 percent of those surveyed expect to travel more in 2012 than in 2011.

It seems people are not necessarily feeling more confident in the economy, perhaps just weary of cutting back, doing without, or facing another less-than-exciting ‘staycation’.

  • Travel plans for 2012 are up 18 percent over plans this time last year for 2011.
  • 79 percent of those who plan to travel expect to spend the same amount or more than they did in 2011 for airfare.
  • 66 percent of those who plan to travel expect to spend more money overall on the trip than they did in 2011.
  • 33 percent of those who plan to travel will try to hold their costs to 2011 spending levels by more aggressively shopping for travel bargains and taking greater advantage of travel deals.

And of these statistics, it is the last one that should have a real impact on timeshare sales, timeshare resales, and timeshare rentals. When travelers compare hotel prices, vacation rentals, and timeshare resales or rentals, time after time, timeshares win out.

Timeshares consistently offer more spacious accommodations, better prices—especially when you buy or rent timeshare on the resale market—and more resort amenities than do most hotels. Savvy consumers, looking to enjoy vacations in 2012 without breaking the bank will recognize the great values and excellent opportunities in timeshare resales and timeshare rentals. This recognition will be good for travel, consumers, the timeshare industry and good for timeshare owners looking to sell or rent timeshare on the secondary market.

Your Choice, a Kitchen in Your Timeshare or a Plastic Water Bottle with Bling

Author: Staff Writer

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

You can’t blame hotels for trying to compete with the comforts of timeshares. Most timeshare condos and larger timeshare units offer full kitchens with real home-style amenities including cookware, ovens, microwaves, full-size refrigerators, and even dishwashers. Just because you are traveling or on vacation doesn’t mean you have to do without the conveniences of home, like feeding the kids the cereal they prefer instead of hauling them downstairs to breakfast in the hotel dining room.

A kitchen in your timeshare rental or resale unit means you can eat what you want, when you want. You can raid the fridge in the middle of the night, stick to your diet, or get off your diet … the choice is yours.

Vacation in a hotel and your options are more limited. Hotel guests are lucky to have an ice bucket and clean cups for morning coffee. Too often, the little refrigerator (if there is one) in the corner of your hotel room is actually a mini bar, which means it won’t hold a can of your favorite soft drink because it is stocked with pricey snack food.

Timeshare Resort Comforts vs. Hotel Creativity?

Recently it seems that hotels are getting more creative with what they stock in the mini bar. Not only are hotels replacing that bag of overpriced chips with an even more expensive bag of organic herb crackers, but some are taking things to another level. How about water priced at $25 because the plastic bottle is decorated with Swarovski crystals? Or candy cigarettes, coconut water, and copies of classic books such as The Great Gatsby in your mini bar … does this really interest you?

If hotels are competing for your attention (and your dollars), they are only in competition with each other. A kitchen in your timeshare unit is handy and adds considerably to your vacation enjoyment, just as the multiple television sets, DVRs, electronic game units, washers and dryers, and other timeshare comforts make vacationing more pleasurable.

Perhaps timeshare resorts recognize that you value choice and convenience over water in sparkly bottles and that if you want to read a classic book during your vacation, you’ll probably download it at no cost on your ebook reader or notebook computer.

Do the comparison yourself. You and your family friends can share one double room and one bathroom, eating delivery pizza from a box on the bed. Or you can spread out and enjoy a resort that combines vacation amenities with the comforts you are accustomed to at home, all the while paying no more (and sometimes less) for the timeshare than you would for hotel accommodations.

Time to declare timeshares vacations the winner!

Who Are You Going to Believe about Timeshare?

Author: Jason Tremblay

Author Christopher Elliott had a blog post recently, titled: 12 Things You Shouldn’t Do in 2012. Everything he recommends is a well-placed word to the wise. You might think, here on The Timeshare Authority blog, we wouldn’t be quoting Elliott, who as a consumer advocate has been known to warn his readers about timeshare sales.

But frankly, we agree with many of the points Elliott raises in general and also in his new book, Scammed: How to Save Your Money and Find Better Service in a World of Schemes, Swindles, and Shady Deals. To his credit, he doesn’t echo the often-said, never-correct message that all timeshares are bad, or that consumers are less than smart for buying them. Instead, he tells consumers not to buy timeshares (or anything else) under pressure. He goes so far as to say that in his opinion, buying timeshare can lead to regrets, but he points out there are reasons for these regrets:

  • Timeshares come with fees. If you understand before you buy that your timeshare will be subject to an annual fee that will increase over time, and that other, additional fees can be placed on your timeshare over the years you own it, then you are going into your purchase as an educated buyer.
  • Timeshares depreciate. You should understand this before you buy your timeshare. Depreciation doesn’t stop you from buying automobiles, electronics, or jewelry, but you won’t be happy if you buy timeshare expecting it to increase in value.
  • Timeshares have rules. While Elliott calls these unreasonable rules, these rules probably fall more into the category of many other “unreasonable rules” such as those issued by airlines, hotels, restaurants, and other service industries. The rules are in place to enhance the way the product works for the greatest number of people using it. They won’t always work for everyone. There may be rules you don’t like or rules that don’t work for you. And if you buy timeshare expecting there to be no rules at all, you will be disappointed.

It’s this simple: when you buy a product that you haven’t researched, that you buy under pressure, and without fully understanding what you are buying, you can wind up with regrets. And this is true whether you are purchasing a timeshare, a television, or a toaster; it’s just that in most cases, your expenditure for the timeshare is much greater than it is for a TV and unlike a toaster, if you are truly dissatisfied, you can’t just walk to the trash and throw away your timeshare.

There is no one size fits all. It doesn’t exist in clothing, real estate, or consumer services and it certainly doesn’t apply when it comes to vacations and vacation ownership. When it comes to the truth about timeshares, don’t believe sales hype that isn’t logical and don’t believe negative criticisms that are the result of critics piling on a topic they don’t understand.

As Groucho Marx said, “Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?” … Do your own research before you buy timeshare. Understand the rules, investigate the fees, ask current and past owners, and take a timeshare rental vacation at the property where you are considering becoming an owner.

Over 80 percent of timeshare owners say they are satisfied with their purchase; many are so happy with one timeshare that they go on to purchase two, three, or more timeshares or timeshare resales. When it comes to timeshares, there really aren’t 12 things you shouldn’t do; there is only one. Don’t be an uneducated, impulsive buyer.
