If you are a fan of vacationing in the Disney parks, you probably already now about “park hopping” which is the special ticket purchase that allows you to go from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot to Animal Kingdom to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, all within the same day. But have you heard of “pool hopping,” one of the many unique perks for members of the Disney Vacation Club?Although pool hopping is not available at the Disneyland California park, it is available when you stay at any of the properties at the Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando) or at Disney᾽s Vero Beach Resort. Pool hopping permits Disney Vacation Club members, and their guests staying at the resort with them, to use the pool at the resort hotel or DVC Club timeshare at which they are staying and to use almost all of the other incredible Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools on the property.

When you hop to a pool at a resort in which you are not a guest, it’s a good idea for you to check-in with a host or hostess at the resort front desk to ensure availability at that pool. Typically, you will be asked to present your Key to the World Card with your “DVC Member” designation on it.

Then, as long as a pool is not at capacity, you as a DVC Club member, are welcome to enjoy it. In the event the pool was to reach capacity, you might be asked to ‘hop elsewhere’ to allow the guests of that resort access to the pool. Due to times of high resort occupancy, certain days during the year are restricted from pool hopping: June 29–July 7; August 31–September 3; November 19–25; and December 16, 2012–January 5, 2013.

Also, pool hopping is never available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney᾽s Contemporary Resort; Stormalong Bay at Disney᾽s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts; Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney᾽s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the leisure pool at Disney᾽s Beach Club Villas, and the pools at Disney᾽s Art of Animation Resort.
