Scheduled for November 1-2, 2012, the final regional meeting of the year for the ARDA timeshare association will be held at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida. This important last opportunity for the timeshare and vacation ownership industry to come together before the Fall Conference in Washington, D.C., will kick off on Thursday, November 1,with a session focused on “Connecting with Owners.”

Communicating with timeshare owners is an important part of building loyalty, defining your brand, and helping timeshare owners take full advantage of the vacation benefits they own. Speakers in this session include: Jennifer Long, RCI; Wendy Slater, Holiday Inn Vacation Club; and Glen Vlasic, Sheraton Vistana Resort. The session is sponsored by Vacation Resorts International (VRI).

Thursday evening’s plan including the Opening Reception with Product Showcase which is co-sponsored by First American Title Insurance.

On Friday morning, start the day by looking at the challenges of “Work-Life Balance.” This issue matters to you personally and it matters within your organization, affecting morale and productivity, perhaps more than most of us  realize. Research conducted by the Corporate Executive Board (CEB), of 50,000 global employees, reveals that work-life balance is now the second-most important driver of employee attraction and commitment, surpassed only by the issue of salary. The hard cold fact is that employees who feel they have a better work-life balance can work up to 21 percent harder than those employees who feel that life and work are out of balance. This important session will be brought to you by WIN, and sponsored by RCI.

Another important session for Friday’s ARDA timeshare Southeast Regional Meeting include the critical and controversial issue of timeshare resales, to be covered in a session called, “Resale and Transfer Options.” Speakers at this session will include: Jan Anderson, Hilton Grand Vacations Club; Gary Hyde, Wyndham Vacation Ownership; and Jan Samson, VRI.

Before the ARDA timeshare Southeast Regional Meeting attendees even reach lunchtime on Friday, other topics addressed will have addressed, “How to Deal with Your ‘Unwelcome Guest,’” addressing the issue of bedbugs, roaches, and other pests, and “Consumer Protection: Scams, Lies and Outright Fraud- How to Protect Your Owners.”

Speakers for these sessions include Micah Nix, Micah Services Inc. and Melissa Rochette, Island One Resorts, who will be looking at challenges of bedbugs and other pests and the liability timeshare resorts have if guests experience this problem.

On the politically sensitive issues of Consumer Protections, the ARDA timeshare Southeast Regional Meeting will welcome Victoria Butler, Office of the Florida Attorney General; Richard Thrawl, Bureau of Compliance- Timeshare Section; and Sasha Velez, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Jason Gamel, ARDA State Affairs, will serve as moderator.
