Wyndham Worldwide Celebrates Global Corporate Social Responsibility Week

Wyndham Worldwide, the global hospitality and timeshare company, participated in this year’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) week from May 19–23, 2014.

They used their first ever CSR week to educate their employees on social responsibility practices. By highlighting their new belief, you can “Do Well By Doing Good”, Wyndham hopes to set an example for their employees and guests.

Chairman and CEO Wyndham Worldwide, Stephen P. Holmes said, “As one of the largest hospitality companies with more than 100,000 locations in nearly 100 countries, we have an increasing opportunity and responsibility to enrich lives and give back through focused programs which help our associates, our business and our communities. Our CSR program is a reflection of our core values and how we do business. It’s what sets us apart and drives our growth.”

Wyndham feels that CSR week is important for the planet, people, and profits. During CSR Week, Holmes participated in a panel with other Wyndham leaders to discuss social responsibility topics. These topics included Diversity and Inclusion, Community Support and Responsiveness, Environment and Sustainability, and Human Rights and Ethics.

Since 2006, Wyndham Worldwide has made a commitment to support both local and global conservation efforts. Through these efforts, Wyndham has become a leader in the hospitality industry for social responsibility and preservation.

The organization has also given back to their communities through the Wishes by Wyndham Foundation. Wyndham provides their employees with an extra paid day off per year to volunteer at a local charity event. This day is known as a ”Wish Day”. Last year, through the Wish Day program Wyndham Worldwide employees accumulated over 17,500 volunteer hours. The foundation contributed $2 million to 250 charity organizations.
