San Diego AAA Five Diamond Resort Joins Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced that they have added a new property to their portfolio. Recently, they acquired The Grand Del Mar, San Diego’s only AAA Five Diamond hotel. Now, the hospitality group has rebranded the resort as the Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
The Grand Del Mar is currently TripAdvisor’s #1 Luxury Hotel in California. Last year, the resort was also named a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Hotel for the fourth year. The Fairmont Grand Del Mar will operate as a mixed-use property offering 80 fractional ownership packages in addition to their hotel operations.
The property features 249 luxury guestrooms and 8 villas. The resort offers 31 suites, ranging from 1,010–2,840 square feet, including: 2 two-bedroom presidential suites, 5 one-bedroom speciality suites, 12 luxury one-bedroom suites, and 12 executive suites.
As for amenities, the resort offers four pools, two tennis courts, boutiques, a fitness center, and 27,000 square feet of meeting space. This meeting space includes a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, perfect for events and weddings.
During their stay, guests can dine at 6 different venues including the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star rated restaurant—Addison.
The resort’s 21,000-square-foot spa has also received multiple awards, including a Five Star rating from the 2015 Forbes Travel Guide. The grounds also feature an 18-hole golf course and club designed by Tom Fazio.
