Margaritaville Vacation Club Opening in August

Margaritaville Nashville

The Margaritaville Vacation Club in St. Thomas will officially open it’s doors next month.

Developed under Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the St.Thomas property will become the first Jimmy Buffett branded resort used for timeshare ownership. Anticpating an immediate demand, Wyndham began accepting reservations months before the resort even opened.

Wyndham spokeswoman, Lindsay Hodges, shared, “Wyndham St. Thomas, the flagship resort for Margaritaville Vacation Club, began accepting reservations for owners March 5, 2015, for stays beginning as early as mid-August.”

Guests can choose from 62 studio units or one of eight presidential suites. While staying at the resort, guests can enjoy a “cheeseburger in paradise” at the beachfront Margaritaville restaurant, grab a Landshark beer at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, or enjoy a variety of margaritas by the pool. The Margaritaville Vacation Club resort will also offer water sports and beach activities.

So far, Wyndham has hired over 50 employees to work at the resort. However Hodges shares that they are still looking for an assistant housekeeping manager, assistant guest services manager, and a maintenance technician.

The structural portion of the first development phase is complete. Now, Wyndham is working on cosmetic updates and decor.

Hodges continued, “Phase 1 units are receiving the finishing touches, like furnishings, electronics and decor. Landscaping is about 80 percent complete.”

Wyndham is planning two additional phases over the next three years. When construction is finished, the timeshare resort will offer a total of 262 units. The beachfront units and the main resort areas, which are already complete, were given priority. The remaining units, including a hillside section, will remain under construction while the resort is open.
