Wyndham’s Margarita Vacation Club Reopens on St. Thomas

Wyndham’s Margaritaville Vacation Club property in St Thomas has reopened since the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma and string of other storms in the beginning of September 2017. Several Wyndham executives and leadership team members traveled to the Caribbean island to join the community and celebrate the occasion.
Wyndham Destinations President and CEO, Michael Brown, was present for the reopening and recognized the many months of effort put forth by his team and their colleagues on the island. The celebrations included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tour of the resort for the Wyndham Destinations leadership team, and a chance to greet guests and owners.
During the ribbon-cutting, Brown excitedly stated:
“It is truly a privilege to be here in the Virgin Islands with our dedicated team as we reopen this spectacular Margaritaville Vacation Club resort. We are proud to support the rebuilding of St Thomas and are so glad to welcome visitors back to the island.”
Much of the existing Wyndham Margaritaville St Thomas staff remained at the resort through the restoration process, and 41 new team members were hired full-time to aid in the reopening and beyond.
US Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism Beverly Nicholson-Doty was also present during the reopening and added:
“The reopening of Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham is another positive step which contributes to our ongoing efforts to rebuild the territory’s economy. Their support contributed significantly to our recovery efforts. As they welcome back club members, we look forward to extending the warm hospitality for which the U.S. Virgin Islands is known.”
There are two Margaritaville Vacation Club locations in the Caribbean, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. Their Puerto Rico location, Margaritaville Rio Mar, reopened following the hurricanes in late March 2018.
