Breckenridge Grand Vacations Reveals New Resort

Colorado Ski Resort

The Colorado timeshare group, Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV), announced that they will build a 4th location in the ski destination.

The new resort will be called The Grand Colorado on Peak 8. Breckenridge Grand Vacations plans to offer the first units to current BGV members from the Grand Timber Lodge, Gold Point Resort, and the Grand Lodge on Peak 7.

The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 will be built in the same location as the original Breckenridge Ski Resort, which opened in 1961. The new resort will be a nod to the iconic history of Breckenridge.

One of BGV’s developers, Rob Millisor said, “The Grand Colorado will be the pinnacle resort within our resort family. With its mountain modern feel and luxurious residences, it will become the most exclusive fractional/timeshare resort to date in the Rockies.”

Since the sixties, Breckenridge has become one of the most popular ski destinations in the world. Breckenridge offers 3,800 skiable acres, a variety of terrain for all experience levels, and a picturesque ski village for shopping and dining.

Construction is already underway at The Grand Colorado on Peak 8. The luxury timeshare resort will be adjacent to express chair lifts and the “Breck Connect” gondola. This gondola connected Peaks 7 and 8 to the Town of Breckenridge.

Construction Manager for BGV Mike Hayes commented,

“This is an ambitious project. It has been designed with ‘modern mountain sophistication’ in mind and integrated into the hillside with public and private terraced amenity levels. Our goal is to get it topped off by mid-summer of 2015 and open for Phase 1 occupancy by summer of 2016. The project has presented some major subterranean challenges getting out of the ground however the construction team is gaining solid momentum as the precast concrete is being set and the building’s structure is starting to take shape. ”

Besides ski access, the resort will also feature a variety of resort amenities. BGV plans to build an outdoor and indoor pool, outdoor fireplaces, grills, full-service spa, family entertainment center, café, and a private movie theater. The spa and the café will be open to the public. Overall, BGV has dedicated over 28,000 square feet towards amenity space and 4,500 square feet to additional commercial space.
