The Dollywood theme park is giving vacationers another reason to put Dollywood and a Gatlinburg timeshare on their list of the vacation destinations they love to visit again and again.
Dollywood’s Splash Country has announced that RiverRush, scheduled to open in the spring of 2013, will become Tennessee’s first water coaster. Amy Owenby, Vice President of Waterparks, calls RiverRush, “…a product of the next generation of water coasters,” and it’s easy to understand why. RiverRush, a four-story, hydromagnetic coaster, will combine the thrills of a land coaster with the sensation of rushing rapids, featuring a 237-foot climb, a plunging 25-foot, 45-degree drop, twists, tunnels, hairpin turns, three more unexpected drops along the way, and oh yes, plenty of water.
Dolly Parton describes the park’s new addition, saying, “At Dollywood, we made history with Wild Eagle, the country’s first wing coaster, so I thought, why not do it again at Dollywood’s Splash Country with my new RiverRush water coaster. You know me. I love making a big splash, and RiverRush is all that and a whole lot more!”
Dollywood’s Splash Country operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day and features 23 water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, leisure pool, and two interactive children’s play areas, but is only one of many reasons that Gatlinburg timeshare and nearby Pigeon Forge timeshare are so popular.
