Kauai’s Royal Coconut Coast Renovation Projects Reach $37 Million

A number of Kauai resorts on Coconut Coast are continuing or on deck to begin renovation projects with completion goals for 2018 and 2019. These projects are valued at over $37 million dollars and are aimed to improving different areas of the luxury resorts.

Coco Beach, Kauai is a popular destination for those searching for oceanfront resorts. Currently, Kauai Shores Hotel, Mokihana Resort, and Pono Kai Resort are in the midst of substantial renovations. Kauai Shores will complete their projects in 2018 which included updates to their beachfront pool, deck, and large hot tub, as well as upgraded air conditioning units. Mokihana’s expected February 2018 renovation completions include refreshing all public spaces, lobby area, and rooms. Pono Kai has been in a six-year renovation as they renovate one building at a time including new floors, soundproofing, bathroom remodels, and furniture and appliance replacements. They are expected to finish their projects in June of 2018.

As some projects end, others are just beginning. Both the Kauai Courtyard at Coconut Beach and Hotel Coral Reef Resort will break ground on their newest improvements in 2018. Hotel Coral Reef will be adding a third story to their beachfront building, which will add two suites with kitchenettes and four guest rooms. Kauai Courtyard will be experiencing even more changes. Along with remodels of their lobby, meeting spaces, public spaces, courtyard, and guest rooms, Kauai Courtyard at Coconut Beach will also be renamed as a Sheraton property in 2019. Their renovations have an expected start date of August 2018 and conclude in February 2019.
