Marriott Vacation Club Introduces clubTHRIVE
Tuesday, November 11, 2014
Last week, Marriott Vacation Club (MVC) introduced clubTHRIVE by Marriott Vacation Club. The timeshare group’s newest experience was unveiled at a launch event held at Marriott’s Grande Ocean resort.
The new, innovative program was created to help owners and guests break away from the stress of daily life. Vacation is a time to let go of your worries and simply enjoy yourself for a week. The clubTHRIVE program will help guests improve both their mental and physical health throughout their stay.
ClubTHRIVE is fully customizable to the needs and wants of owners. The program combines instructor-led classes and takeaways to do yourself in four main categories:
- Renew — Leaders help guests find their “vacation mindset” through exercise and activities.
- Refuel — The program promotes healthy food and drink choices by educating owners on nutrition.
- Move — Owners and guests can partake in cardio, toning, and strength workouts, designed to make working out more fun than a typical gym.
- Explore — Guests can learn how to “thrive” at the resort by enjoying local activities that are fun, healthy, and educational.
At the launch party, Marriott welcomed guests and associates to experience the four elements of the program: renew, refuel, move, and explore. Visitors were invited to enjoy a fitness class from aqua fit in the pool, as well as an outdoor flexibility and relaxation class. Guests were provided with healthy foods and drinks throughout the event.
At the end of the day, guests were welcome to participate in the clubTHRIVE 5K race. Situated between the Marriott’s Grande Ocean and Marriott’s Monarch at Sea Pines Resorts, the 5K was a great opportunity to jump start the health and wellness program. At the end of the race, all guests were invited to attend a celebration at Pool Bar Jim, the resort’s bar and grill.
Executive VP and chief resort experience officer, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, Cliff Delorey said,
“For more than thirty years Marriott Vacation Club has been a brand leader and innovator and clubTHRIVE offers our owners and guests a convenient, customized, health focused and fun way to unwind and enjoy their time at our resorts even more. I’m very proud of our associates who are the heartbeat of our resorts and make programs like clubTHRIVE possible. The clubTHRIVE launch on Hilton Head Island is the first of many to come as we roll out this brand new experience at more resorts over the next several months.”
Marriott’s Grande Ocean resort is the first location to experience clubTHRIVE. By the end of 2014, Marriott plans to roll-out additional clubTHRIVE programs at select MVC resorts in Florida, Hawaii, and California. If all goes well, Marriott will carry the program worldwide through 2015.
