DAE, the popular timeshare exchange company, will host their second annual DAE Invitational Golf Classic in Taupo, New Zealand. The tournament will take place from May 10th–May 14th.

The event will be DAE’s second golf tournament in Taupo. Last year, the timeshare exchange group held a five day tournament with 70 international and local participants. This year, they expect over 100 players.

DAE’s Regional Manager, Australia New Zealand, Gary Fog said, “Our inaugural Golf Classic in May 2014 attracted DAE members from as far as Perth to take part in the unique friendly competition, which is fantastic for the Taupo region.”

The first annual DAE Invitational offered only a 9-hole round of golf. For a little variety, this year participants will have the option to choose from a 9-hole or 18-hole format.

Fog added,

“We’re bringing back the 9-hole format, which proved to be extremely popular with the players last year, as well as introducing an 18-hole Ambrose on Sunday to kick things off.

“Importantly, the 9-hole format allows plenty of time to soak up everything else on offer around the local Taupo area, including lake and river cruises, fishing, glass blowing, and other activities.

“This style of competition week gives people a reason to travel—benefiting the Taupo region and our members, who get to experience something different while on holiday.”

The New Zealand Holiday Ownership Council (NZHOC), the region’s largest timeshare association, will also support the DAE Invitational. NZHOC Chairman, Martyn Rix commented,

“The timeshare industry contributes over $10 million in expenditure by resorts and guests to the Taupo region annually.

“It is events and experiences like the DAE Golf Classic that drive further engagement of timeshare owners and keep occupancy levels of timeshare resorts up near an average of 90 percent year round.

“Not only did last year’s tournament attract 70 players, on average each golfer was accompanied by a partner, with many even bringing up to four other family and friends along for the week—boosting the economic impact even further.”

Fog expects increased enthusiasm for this year’s tournament, “We look forward to welcoming back local members and even more DAE members to join us for a great week at the DAE Invitational Golf Classic in Taupo.”
