Grand Pacific Resorts Helps Humane Society Provide “Furrever” Homes
Tuesday, June 30, 2015
Last week, Grand Pacific Resorts presented $1,200 to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe to assist their animal adoption and rescue programs.
The Tahoe-based timeshare group handed the check to the shelter on June 17th, 2015, at the conclusion of a charity event. Over the course of two days, a group of travel bloggers went on a scavenger hunt, competing to raise money for the Humane Society and The League to Save Lake Tahoe.
Director of Marketing at Grand Pacific Resorts, Renee Wagner said, “Families are at the heart of what we do and at the heart of many families is a beloved pet. We believe every cat and dog deserves a ‘furrever’ home. That’s why we’re proud to support the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.”
During the presentation ceremony, Wagner awarded the check to Dale Lawrence (Development Manager) and Kara Carstensen (Adoption Specialist and Community Spay/Neuter Program Manager), along with a few canine representatives.
The donation will go towards the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe’s local programs, including: spay/neuter services, pet-assisted therapy, and animal adoptions.
Lawrence shared, “It’s thanks to generous donors like Grand Pacific Resorts that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is able to save so many lives. This donation will provide food, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries for a litter of puppies and their mother.”
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has the chance to receive a second donation from Grand Pacific Resorts through their program, “beCause Destination Matters.” This program, coordinated through GPR’s rental program, ResorTime, offers travelers the chance to vote for their favorite nonprofit to receive a donation of $2,500.
