Last month, Grand Pacific Resorts took part in a media event that contributed to two very important causes. The four-day event included influential travel bloggers with a combined following of more than 50,000 families. Grand Pacific hosted four of the travel bloggers and their families in their Carlsbad and Coronado locations.

Vanessa McGill from SanDiegoVille, a San Diego-based lifestyle publication, says, “Coronado offers visitors a little oasis within Southern California, and Coronado Beach Resort captures its spirit perfectly with a breezy, relaxed atmosphere and prime location across from the Hotel Del. We enjoyed the amenities and being surrounded by Coronado’s bustling downtown.” Read more about SanDiegoVille’s staycation at www.sandiegoville.com.

Part of the event included a scavenger hunt where bloggers competed to raise funds for both the Movember Foundation and Send Me On Vacation. Stephanie Scheaffer from Tuscontopia was part of the team competing on behalf of the Movember Foundation—a “global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives.” The foundation aims to raise awareness and funding for over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer and poor mental health among others.

Meanwhile, bloggers Allison Waken from All for the Memories and Heather Riccobono from Brie Brie Blooms competed for Send Me On Vacation—a non-profit organization that supports women undergoing treatment for breast cancer by providing them with relaxing and restorative vacations around the world. Over the past four years, Send Me On Vacation has sent over 100 cancer survivors on vacation.

At the end of the event, both teams tied and each charitable foundation received a donation of $1,200 from Grand Pacific Resorts.
