Villa del Palmar Resort Wins Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
Tuesday, August 2, 2016
The Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto was recently recognized by Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence for their restaurant’s wine list. Danzante Fine Dining, a steakhouse at the Villa del Palmar, earned the distinction on behalf of the resort. The resort and restaurant is featured in Wine Spectator’s 2016 Restaurant Wine List Awards.
Wine Spectator gives three different awards as part of its annual Wine List Awards. The first is the Award of Excellence, followed by the Best Award of Excellence and finally, the Grand Award. Danzante Fine Dining won the Award of Excellence for its large list of international wines, as well as the myriad of local wine options from around Baja California.
Owen Perry, Co-Owner and President of Villa del Palmar said:
“We’re honored that Danzante Fine Dining has been recognized by such a distinguished program. At Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, we work hard to make all aspects of the resort exceptional for our guests. We want not one, but all features and amenities of the resort to shine with the highest merit, and this award is a reflection of those efforts.”
With a list incorporating 90 different types of wine, Danzante Fine Dining and the Villa del Palmar resort have amassed an impressive inventory at reasonable prices. This distinction alone was enough to earn them the Award of Excellence, but the work the establishment put into carefully selecting the wines on its list stood out among the competition. The resort employs a sommelier who seeks out the best wines from Baja California, as well as from the U.S., Mexico, Chile, and other locations.
The award from Wine Spectator comes directly after the resort was recognized by the World Travel Awards as the leading resort in Mexico and Central America, and as Mexico’s leading beach resort.
