Vail Resorts Takes On Management of Lake Tahoe Condominiums
Thursday, October 6, 2016
Vail Resorts is set to expand their portfolio yet again. The ski resort company will assume management of the Zalanta Resort luxury condominiums in South Lake Tahoe when the property completes construction in January 2017. The Zalanta Resort will become Vail Resort’s third affiliated ski resort hotel in the Lake Tahoe area.
The Zalanta condominiums are South Lake Tahoe’s first whole-ownership development in 30 years. Featuring two, three, and four bedroom units close to the Heavenly Gondola and Heavenly Mountain Resort’s ski trails. The property is also close to the shores of Lake Tahoe, as well as a flurry of dining and entertainment options. On-site amenities include a year-round heated swimming pool, hot tubs, a fire pit, and a gym. Included in the resort’s property is 19,000 square feet of retail space, which may be used for an on-site restaurant.
While the first phase of construction is slated to finish in January of next year, a second phase will reportedly add another 60 residences, a rooftop terrace, and a parking garage. Those additions are expected to be completed by late 2018.
Vail Resorts will manage the property entirely. This includes operating a 24/7 front desk, and providing valet services to guests and owners. Vail will also oversee the homeowners association and vacation rental programs on the behalf of the property’s owners, all of which is the current standard at Vail’s other resorts in Lake Tahoe, Breckenridge, Park City, and elsewhere.
Ron Neville, vice president of hospitality for Vail Resorts’ Lake Tahoe and Park City region, said:
“We are beyond thrilled to see the first phase of Zalanta coming to fruition and to fill a much-needed void in South Lake Tahoe. Zalanta’s presence in South Lake Tahoe will up the ante for whole-ownership residences and luxury vacation rental accommodations.”
Additionally, Vail Resorts’ Legendary Lodging homeowner affinity program will apply to Zalanta owners. The program will serve to give owners access to benefits such as discounts on lodging, transportation, golf, spa, retail, food, and equipment rentals.
