Grand Velas Los Cabos Earns AAA Five Diamond Award

Grand Velas Los Cabos, one of Mexico’s premier luxury properties, has earned the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award. The distinction makes Grand Velas the brand with the most Five Diamond awards outside the United States, with their Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit properties also maintaining the top honor.

The AAA Five Diamond award is one of the most desired and respected honors in the hospitality industry. Resorts must demonstrate “ultimate luxury, sophistication, and comfort with extraordinary physical attributes, meticulous personalized service, extensive amenities and impeccable standards of excellence” in order to qualify for the award. This year, 28,000 hotels and resorts were evaluated for the award, with only 112 receiving it. It is common for evaluations to occur unannounced, requiring an eligible property to maintain a constant standard of luxury.

The Grand Velas Los Cabos earned the award for its commitment to providing stellar on-site amenities as well as desirable in-room features. All-inclusive amenities are complemented by several gourmet dining options, beautiful ocean views, deluxe suites with premium accommodations, and more. Opening in late 2016, the resort earned the Five Diamond rating in just under one year of operation.

The distinction is yet another massive achievement for the Grand Velas brand, which boasts Five Diamond ratings at its other properties. The Grand Velas Riviera Maya has maintained the distinction since 2010, while the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit has been a Five Diamond resort since 2007.
