staySky Vacation Clubs Donates Supplies to Hurricane Relief
Monday, November 27, 2017
staySky Vacation Clubs, together with staySky Resort Management, has marked the holiday season with donations to the people of Puerto Rico still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Maria. Through donation drives and initiatives coordinated by employees of staySky, the two organizations were able to deliver much-needed essentials to those living in the hardest-hit areas of the island.
Hurricane Maria delivered widespread devastation to the popular Caribbean destination last month, resulting in millions left without access to power, food, and even clean drinking water. staySky’s mission was to gather supplies crucial to maintaining the best quality of life possible for those still affected, in order to help them carry on with their regular lives. Through the donation drive, staySky Vacation Clubs was able to accumulate cases of water, food, diapers, and other essentials to deliver to Puerto Rican communities. In all, the company filled a semi-truck container with donations to aid recipients.
Randy Steinbeck of staySky Vacation Clubs spoke to the importance of the donation drive:
“Not only do we have many Vacation Clubs members from Puerto Rico, we host many guests from Puerto Rico in our resorts on an annual basis. Our companies also have many staff members that have relatives in the country so we are intimately aware of the difficulties being faced. Anything that we as a company can do to give back to our local or international communities is very much of our culture.”
