Grand Pacific Resorts hosted the Annual RCI Christel House Open at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, California. This is the 16th year that this tournament has taken place. Grand Pacific Resorts also enlisted the assistance of two Christel House graduates in their internship program.

The Christel House works to break the cycle of poverty by providing under-resourced communities with quality education and services to help make a successful future for kids and their families. Grand Pacific Resorts has been an avid Christel House supporter, and was able to raise $56,000 at this year’s tournament. Cumulatively, since 1998, Grand Pacific Resorts has raised $750,000 to support this worthy cause.

Charley and Zicri, the two Christel House graduates, attended the academy in Indiana starting in first grade all the way through senior year in high school. They were both able to help coordinate the event and shared their experience with all the players and volunteers.

“I attended Christel House for twelve years, so it became important to me to put a face to the supporters behind a charity that provided me with the tools and support to get a quality education, and ultimately a college degree,” said Charley. “Everyone was so welcoming and it was great to have a chance to hear why people have been so generous to others. My hope is that one day I will be on the other side, golfing for a cause that means so much to me.”

Grand Pacific Resorts continues to make impactful partnerships to assist with their social responsibility programs. 10News, an ABC network affiliate, was a media sponsor for the second year. They helped raise awareness through outreach on social media. Every penny of the money raised through this tournament with benefit Christel House programs and services across the globe.

Grand Pacific Resorts Co-Presiden, David Brown, commented that the addition of the Christel House ambassadors made this the best year yet. He hopes the tournament inspires a lifetime of giving back and that is will help to break the cycle of poverty and create vibrant and productive members of the community.
