AMResorts®, part of the Apple Leisure Group (ALG) company, has just announced that they are moving into St. Martin with the signing of a new resort brand management deal. This deal brings its Secreat Resorts & Spas brand to the island of St. Martin. This addition keeps Apple Leisure Group in their position of having the largest selection of all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.

Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group, and Tommaso Sandretto, CEO of Sole Resorts, made the official announcement at an event held by Daniel Gibbs, President of the Collectivity of St. Martin.

“ALG is continuing to grow its brand footprint in the Caribbean by expanding into the highly marketable destination of St. Martin, which welcomes millions of international travelers each year,” said Zozaya. “We are confident that the island has the potential to become one of the region’s premier high-end destinations, making it the perfect location for our luxury all-inclusive brand, Secrets Resorts & Spas.”

Sole Resorts, a longstanding partner of the Apple Leisure Group, owns this St. Martin Resort. This is now the fourth resort conversion that both companies have collaborated on.

Formerly known as the Riu Palace St. Martin, the property will undergo a $20 million renovation before re-opening in 2019 under the Secrets brand. This adults-only property boasts 350 rooms and is located in Anse Marcel, only 35 minutes from the Princess Juliana International Airport. It’s set on private and protected enclaves with stunning views of Anguilla. It also has the largest pool in the Caribbean.

Javier Coll, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of ALG, comment on the partnership between Sole Resorts and Apple Leisure Group:

“This partnership with Sole Resorts demonstrates ALG’s ability to successfully convert existing resorts into one of our award-winning brands and deliver an attractive return on investment for owners,. We continue to see high demand for the Caribbean and anticipate this will only increase, making it the ideal time for owners to ensure they have the right resort management partner to position their properties to maximize the demand.”

Once the resort is fully renovated, it will provide guests with the Secrets’ signature vacation concept—Unlimited-Luxury®—where everything is included. Beautifully appointed rooms, 24-hour concierge and room service, gourmet a la carte restaurants and lounges, world-class spa facilities, and much more will be available for guests to enjoy.

Tommaso Sandretto, CEO of Sole Resorts, commented that they discovered St. Martine right after the hurricane Irma damage. He feels confident that their investment will benefit the island and help them to bounce back from this natural disaster.
