Diamond Resorts and Audubon International Partner on Green Lodging Program
Friday, June 7, 2019
Diamond Resorts has partnered with Audubon International to increase awareness of green initiatives throughout the vacation ownership industry. Joining Audubon’s Green Lodging program will ensure that all of the Diamond Resorts properties in North America will implement environmental best practice standards.
The Green Lodging Program was launched after stakeholders from the vacation ownership industry, government, and environmental community identified the best practices. These are reviewed regularly to make sure that the practices and technologies define environmental leadership within the program.
“It is an honor for us to join Diamond Resorts to form this strategic alliance,” said Christine Kane, Chief Executive Officer of Audubon International. “As a leader in both the hospitality and tourism industries, their commitment to put environmentally sustainable management practices at the forefront of their operations will have an immediate and positive impact on sustainability efforts.”
Diamond Resorts has already been making efforts to implement environmentally friendly practices at their properties worldwide. Many properties are switching to paper or biodegradable straws and planted sustainability gardens.
Diamond Resorts is also known for running interactive and informative campaigns that encourage guests to recycle while educating them on properly disposing of waste.
In part with the Green Lodging Program, Diamond Resorts’ priority is to demonstrate their staff’s commitment to water quality and conservation, minimizing waste, resource conservation, and energy efficiency.
