Wyndham Destinations Opens First Portland, Oregon Timeshare Resort
Wednesday, June 26, 2019
Leading vacation ownership company Wyndham Destinations has just celebrated the grand opening of their newest, urban WorldMark by Wyndham resort, WorldMark Portland—Waterfront Park, in Portland, Oregon. This is the company’s eighth Oregon property and the first-ever timeshare resort in the city.
Wyndham Destinations’ President and CEO Michael Brown attended the rose ribbon cutting ceremony and was joined by WorldMark by Wyndham owners, guests, local officials, and resort associates.
Portland is one of many new urban resorts in the Wyndham Destinations portfolio, joining the ranks of their Austin, San Francisco, New Orleans, and New York City properties. Recently, Portland was ranked #2 on Thrillists’ “Best Cities to Spend a Weekend” list.
Brown was happy to discuss his excitement about the property:
“With a vibrant dining scene, eclectic shopping and proximity to outdoor activities, it’s no surprise our owners and guests ranked Portland at the top of their travel wish list. We are excited to officially welcome guests to our newest urban resort, continuing our efforts to bring new vacation destinations to locations today’s travelers want to visit. With more than 35 resorts in over 20 metropolitan locations, Wyndham Destinations continues to grow its already industry leading urban portfolio.”
Located downtown, WorldMark Portland is right across the street from Willamette River and steps from Waterfront Park which is home to a variety of seasonal events including summer concerts and the famous Saturday Market, Oregon’s Brewers Festival, Portland Rose Festival, and the Blues Fest. Additionally, guests are a short walk from Pine Street Market which features a number of restaurants and is a quick drive from the Pearl shopping district.
Jeff Miller, President and CEO of Travel Portland, was also thrilled to talk about the opening:
“I am incredibly pleased to welcome the new WorldMark Portland – Waterfront Park to Portland’s lodging community. The opening of this new location speaks to the growing visitor interest in our destination, and we’re excited to see diversified lodging options available to service Portland visitors’ needs.”
WorldMark Portland provides guests with 75 studio, one-, and two-bedroom condominium-style accommodations that can sleep two to six guests. These units include features like full kitchens or kitchenettes and a Portland-inspired design that was influenced by the property’s historic surroundings. Knowing Portland’s dynamic cuisine, WorldMark by Wyndham has also partnered with local, award-winning chef Karl Holl to create three signature recipes that guests can recreate in their suites or in the property’s courtyard.
In line with the company’s commitment to aid food relief agencies, Wyndham Destinations has also donated $10,000 to the Oregon Food Bank as a grand gesture during their opening ceremony. The company’s partnership with these agencies encourages guests and owners to donate their leftover groceries at the end of their vacations. In 2018 alone, Wyndham and its guests have donated over 51 tons of food at food banks around the US.
