Exciting Things to Come for DVC Owners

As we enter the year 2020, we are looking ahead at exciting things. As always, Disney has some new additions and transformations for DVC owners to keep an eye on. In addition to the recently opened DVC resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, there are some more great features for DVC owners to look forward to. Here is what we know about the upcoming Marvel-themed ‘Avengers Campus’ park and the Epcot park total transformation.

Avengers Campus

There has been a lot of buzz about the Marvel-themed area of Disneyland’s California Adventure that is set to open this summer. The area will be taking over where ‘A Bug’s Land’ once was. The area will be known as ‘Avengers Campus’ and will be an extension of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ ride that debuted in 2017.

DVC owners can look forward to the Avenger training grounds where guests can “become part of an interconnected, global story spanning from California to Paris to Hong Kong, as the Avengers recruit new extraordinary people to join them.”

Additionally, the area will host a microbrewery, retail center, and meet-and-greet area for the superheroes (though it is not known which characters will be found there).

The Epcot Transformation

The Epcot overhaul is being called the “largest transformation of any Disney park ever.” The idea for the original Epcot park came to Walt Disney in the 60s when he wanted an “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.” The transformation will further that dream to offer a future world for DVC owners and guests.

New Epcot additions are expected to include:

  • A Marry Poppins attraction in England
  • A Ratatouille ride and restaurant in the French pavilion
  • A Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster
  • A new Moana area
  • A “digital city” called Play Pavilion

These new additions will open at different times, but what we know for sure is that the summer of 2020 will bring the trackless Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and in 2021, we can expect a ride called Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.
