The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on January 12, 2021 that international travelers, including American citizens, must show proof of being COVID-19 negative 72 hours before boarding a flight to the US. Resorts in Central America and the Caribbean (placed still accepting American travelers) have shown that they are well prepared—including brands like Royal Holiday Vacation Club.

Royal Holiday Vacation Club properties have been offering COVID-19 antigen tests to guests since late December. As part of their Safe Guest Program, they have offered two complimentary on-site tests per room. Additional tests are available for purchase at a special rate. Royal Holiday Vacation Club has these tests performed by a certified physician and guests will receive an official certificate if someone tests negative, and this certificate can be used to board a flight back to the US.

PCR tests are also offered to Royal Holiday Vacation Club guests that are not US travelers at a special rate. These tests are also required to enter other countries including Canada.

The Royal Holiday Vacation Club operations manager has said that they are very committed to ensuring anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be cared for and kept safe with the opportunity to stay quarantined comfortably at their hotels.

Other major resorts have made COVID-19 tests a top priority to help adhere to the CDC guidelines and make the traveling process easier for those who feel comfortable doing so.
