Disneyland Sets a New Reopening Date for Disney Vacation Club Villas
Wednesday, February 24, 2021

Disneyland has set another reopening date for the Disney Vacation Club villas after the Governor’s stay-at-home order caused a delay in reopening the timeshares in December. The Disney Vacation Club villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will officially reopen on May 2, 2021.
It is unlikely that Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and other California theme parks will open completely until late spring or summer under the COVID-19 health and safety reopening guidelines California has in place.
The initial reopening date was December 6, 2021, but it was pushed back because of the state lockdown.
The Disney Vacation Club villas will be the only aspect of Disney’s Grand Californian to open during this initial phased reopening. The Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier Hotel will remain closed indefinitely.
Additionally, dining, activities, and various services will be modified with capacity restrictions in place in compliance with the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
Those visiting Disneyland will be expected to wear masks and social distance as part of the “new normal.” Increased sanitization methods, contactless payments, reduced attraction capacity, and employee health and safety training measures are also in full effect.
