Travel + Leisure Announces Winners of 2023 World’s Best Awards

Travel + Leisure has announced the top travel destinations and organizations across the world with the results of the 2023 World’s Best Awards’ reader survey. This is the 28th edition of the World’s Best Awards. It highlights leaders in travel, including top cities, islands, hotels, cruise lines, airlines, airports, and more. The complete survey results came out in the August issue of Travel + Leisure.

This year’s survey results span 122 category lists, with many surprise winners. A new airline claimed the #1 spot for Best International Airline. There was also a new winner in the Best Mega-Ship Ocean Cruise category. Two new categories were also introduced: Best Luxury Villa Rental Companies and Best Trains.

Some of the highlights from the worldwide rankings include:

• Best Cities Overall – Oaxaca, Udaipur, and Kyoto with the top three spots
• Top 100 Hotels Overall (across 32 countries and 5 continents) – Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet with the top spot.
• Top Islands in the Continental US – Georgia’s Golden Isles took the #1 spot
• Top City Hotel in Continental US – The Peninsula Chicago took the top spot
• Top Resort Hotel in the Continental US – Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collect came in at #1
