Hacienda-Tres-Rios-triathlon-4On Sunday, Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences, the leader in Mexico timeshares, hosted their 4th annual Hacienda Tres Rios Triathlon. Over 400 athletes participated in the event including local resident Marcos Velazquez, a visually impaired athlete training for the World Triathlon ITU 2014 in Edmonton, Canada.

In preparation for the race, all participants were invited to attend a rally the day before on May 17th. At this event, athletes received race t-shirts and supplies featuring the theme of “Accept the Challenge”. Souvenirs and supplies were distributed by a variety of vendors including: Yantra, Hospiten, Electrolite, ADT, Info Vital, Energy Fitness, Elite Cyclery, A de Coco, Elite Lockers, Cristal, jazzercise®, Powerade®, TravelBook, and Zoom Photoshop.

On the day of the race, ages 16 and up participated in the triathlon. The traditional spring included swimming 750 meters, cycling 20 kilometers, and running 5 kilometers.

For the first time, children between the ages of 6 and 15 years old also had the opportunity to participate. To accommodate different skill levels, children were separated four different categories by age.

Afterwards, Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experience hosted the awards ceremony and a “Celebrate the Challenge” party. Hosted at the Hacienda Tres Rios resort, the after party featured music, drinks, and food to celebrate the athletes and their achievements. Moon Palace ArenaOn May 6th 2014, Palace Resorts hosted the 39th Annual Tianguis Turistico kick-off event. Tianguis Turistico is a four-day convention to celebrate and promote Mexico’s tourism industry.

This year’s event was held at Palace Resorts’ signature timeshare property, the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort. The resort recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation including a new arena, perfect for hosting such an occasion.

As one of the most influential meetings of Mexico’s tourism industry, thousands of buyers and sellers attended Tianguis Turistico. This year, the event also attracted a record-breaking number of international buyers. In total, 1,500 buyers from over 60 countries attended the event.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto led the festivities as the convention’s keynote speaker and guest of honor. He was joined by other government dignitaries, state officials, media representatives, and industry VIPs.

Sunset World Donates to FirefightersAs part of their community outreach program, Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences has donated supplies to local fire stations in Cancun.

The supplies included sheets, comforters, pillow cases, dishes, and other household items. These items will help outfit the local dormitories at seven stations in Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Leona Vicario.

The donation was presented by Sunset World’s Corporate Director of Brand and PR to the local Firefighter’s Association’s Board of Trustees. The board was extremely grateful for the timeshare company’s generous gift.

General Director of the local Firefighter’s Association, Tomas Hurtado said,

“We are grateful for Sunset World’s generosity in improving the living conditions for our 144 heroic firefighters and our very important institution. Six months ago we had nothing, not even bedspreads. But now thanks to our hotel industry friends we have been able to equip our installations with what we need. We look forward to receiving other needed items, such as furniture, through contributions from wonderful companies like Sunset World.”

Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC) by AMResorts has announced the completion of renovations at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa.

Located in Riviera Maya, the Dream Tulum Resort is a luxury oasis for timeshare owners and guests. Named after the Tulum ancient ruins, located just a few miles away, the resort offers elegant suites, gourmet dining, and a full service spa.

During the renovation, UVC redesigned 222 guest rooms and suites. All rooms were updated with new furniture, new LED Televisions, LED lighting, and refurbished bathroom suites. Updated bathrooms now feature new cabinets, modern showers and Jacuzzi bathtubs. The décor was also updated to reflect a more modern resort experience.

Even more exciting features were added right outside these units. During the remodel, 44 Deluxe and Junior Suite Garden View rooms were transformed into “Preferred Club Swimout” rooms. These preferred rooms provide direct access to a private pool on each suite’s patio area.

In addition to the guest room updates, the resort also remodeled the Sky Sports Bar & Lounge, the resort gardens, and grounds area. As a popular relaxation area, the Sky Sports Bar has been remodeled to include new LED HD televisions and a more modern décor. The Lounge Bar has also been update to reflect a more modern style.

This was not the only exciting news to come from UVC. They resort group also announced that in May 2014, a selection of Deluxe Garden View, Junior Suite Garden View, Preferred Club Deluxe Swimout, and Preferred Club Junior Suite Swimout rooms will become Adult-only areas. This particular section of the resort will be in a secluded area, providing the perfect location for an adult getaway.
