Marriott Vacations Raises $220,000 for Children at Charity Golf Event

Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Marriott Vacations Worldwide hosted the 21st Annual Caring Classic charity golf tournament. This outing benefits the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. This year, the golf tournament raised $220,000 for charity, bringing the total raised by this event since 1997 to over $2.7 million.

This year, the tournament was held at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando. There was a full field of 40 teams and the event sold out in just a few weeks. The event featured some unique golf on-course experiences including shooting a golf ball out of a cannon, a chipping challenge, food trucks, and more. The tournament was followed by a celebratory lunch. More than 60 Marriott Vacations Worldwide associate volunteers and golf staff worked to provide an incredible on-course hospitality and golf experience for all participants.

“I am so proud of our team and the effort they put forth to raise an incredible amount of money to help sick and injured children in our community get better,” said Stephen P. Weisz, president and chief executive officer. “This extraordinary effort combined with the continued commitment and support from our partners year after year allow the hospital to invest in life-saving medical equipment and provide a wide range of services for so many families in our community.”

The proceeds from the tournament will be used locally and directly to benefit the pediatric programs at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Marriott Vacations continues to be committed to their support of different hospital initiatives for the children of the Orlando community.

President of Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation, John Bozard, expressed his gratitude towards Marriott Vacation Worldwide for their continued support. And because of this, the foundation is able to provide critical funding for the care and treatment of patients and their families.
