Sunset World Resort Hosts Meeting on Sustainable Management of Water

Sunset World Resorts & Vacation ExperienceIn a press release on Friday, Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences announced a successful gathering of the 5th annual Latin American Meeting on Sustainable Management of Water. The timeshare resort company welcomed a group of researchers to their Hacienda Tres Rios Resort in Riviera Maya to discuss conservation efforts.

One topic discussed was the group’s EXCEED project. EXCEED is a collaboration between Sunset World and researchers to find ways to conserve drinking water, as well as find ways to improve sanitation, pollution, and sustainability.

During the meeting, Mexican research experts partnered with scientists from Brazil and Germany to review the ecosystems and water conservation of major coastal cities around the world. All parties deemed the event at the Hacienda Tres Rios Resort to be a success.

Engineer Rodolfo Silva, who attended the meeting shared, “On behalf of all of the EXCEED meeting participants, I want to express our thanks for all of the generous attentions we received from the staff of Hacienda Tres Rios. Without a doubt, the results of the meeting were excellent and we all enjoyed very much the hotel installations, the climate, cloudy during work days but sunny for our day of rest.”

Water conservation is a major theme discussed not only in Mexico but around the world as well. In 2014, over 200 million people still do not have access to clean drinking water and 3 million do not have sanitation systems. Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experience understands the importance of contributing to this effort in Mexico and helping to spread awareness across the globe.

Similar meetings were also held around the world in countries such as Turkey, Ethiopia, and China. These events are thanks to a global effort from the Center of Excellence For The Cooperation and Development of Sustainable Management of Water, the EXCEED project, and the Federal Ministry for the Cooperation and Economic Development of Germany. The German service of international exchange students and scientists also played a large role in coordinating the meetings.

Timeshare Resorts and developers can play a huge part in conserving natural resources, including water. Sunset World has made a great effort to give back to their country and community by supporting efforts such as these. For more information, please visit SunsetWorld.net.
