Diamond Resorts International Gives Back This Holiday Season
Monday, December 21, 2015
‘Tis the season for feeling grateful for what you have and sharing with the less fortunate. At least that’s what Diamond Resorts International® believes. This holiday will mark the third year that Diamond Resorts has partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots foundation. The goal of the foundation—according to their website—is to “deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”
Team members and guests across the U.S. will have the opportunity to donate new toys at Diamond Resorts properties. Last year, they were able to collect over 1,600 toys nationwide. Diamond is also partnering with community food banks and clothing drives across the country. Employees are volunteering their time to help organize and package food and clothing for children and the elderly. Also, all Diamond resorts will collect nonperishable food items that will be delivered to local food banks for families in need.
“As a leader in offering people unique, enriching vacation experiences, it is important to Diamond Resorts and its team members that we also support both our local communities and the global organizations that make a difference in people’s lives, especially during the holidays,” said David Palmer, Diamond Resorts International® President and CEO. “We are proud of the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by our team members, and their determination to lend a helping hand with our year-round initiatives as well as during this special time of year.”
Globally, Diamond is working with many not-for-profit organizations such as fire and law enforcement agencies. They are donating gently used furniture, linens, and miscellaneous household items to shelters as well.
Lastly, Diamond Resorts has an internal program called Embrace A Team Member. Through this program, employees can provide gifts for the children of their co-workers who might be struggling financially.
