After less than one year in operation, the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande has been honored with the Four Diamond recognition at the American Automobile Association Diamond Awards. The property is the first Palace Resorts location outside of Mexico and opened in July 2015 as part of the multimillion dollar enhancement project of the Sunset Jamaica Grande.
AAA has also recognized the achievement of three additional Palace Resorts brand properties located in Cancun. Beach Palace, located in the hub of Cancun’s hotel zone, was awarded the Four Diamond Award for the fourth year in a row; Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort achieved a AAA Four Diamond award for its fifth consecutive year, and Le Blanc Spa Resort, received the coveted AAA Five Diamond recognition for its sixth consecutive year.
“Less than a year ago, we actualized the most ambitious undertaking of Palace Resorts’ history with the successful opening of Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. The tireless efforts of Jamaica’s dedicated employees coupled with our company’s commitment to elevating the standards of what an all-inclusive resort can and should provide valued guests have come together to create a truly exceptional vacation experience. Recognition from the prestigious AAA organization after opening just seven months ago further solidifies Moon Palace Jamaica Grande’s foundation for what is most definitely an exciting future filled with limitless potential,” said Gibran Chapur, Executive Vice President of Palace Resorts. “Being honored by the prestigious AAA organization year after year is a testament to stellar staff of each of our properties and their ability to consistently provide the utmost in service, quality and experience.”
Moon Palace Jamaica Grande is located on 17-acres of private beach in Ocho Rios on the north coast of Jamaica. The resort capped off their multimillion dollar transformation with more than 700 guestrooms and suites with oceanfront views of the Caribbean Sea. Several new luxurious amenities have been added, including Awe Spa (Jamaica’s largest spa), four unique restaurant locations, the Noir Nightclub, a dolphin habitat, a FlowRider Double-Wave Simulator, and more.
The AAA organization evaluates over 28,000 resorts, historic inns, bed & breakfasts, and more from all over the world. Only 0.4 percent of hotels are recognized as AAA Five Diamond properties and 5.7 percent are awarded AAA Four Diamond status.
