Westgate Offers The Latest in Modern Glamping Luxuries

Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo is modernizing the way travelers camp with the addition of 10 Luxe Teepees. The shelters offer a special type of vacation experience called “glamping” (glamorous camping).

The Luxe Teepees offer a luxurious Native American inspired living space in an adventurous outdoor atmosphere. The 651-square-foot teepees can accommodate up to four guests and offer some fantastic amenities including a double-sided stone rock hearth fireplace, screened private patio deck, microwave, mini refrigerator, leather chairs, a king bed, full sleeper sofa, air conditioning, and heating. Also available are private ensuite bathrooms with vanity and porcelain cast iron claw bathtub and shower. Stay in units appropriately named “Dancing Warrior”, “Roaming Buffalo”, and “Soaring Eagle”.

The Luxe Teepees are located on their own special area of the Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo area, which will be named the Takoda Village. The village is surrounded by 100-year-old oak trees and features an authentic tribal council pavilion built by the Seminole Tribe of Florida known as the Chickee Hut. The Chickee Hut features a palmetto roof and offers a great space for friends and family to gather together and celebrate just like the Native Americans once did. The area also features some great on-site amenities including outdoor fire pits, swinging hammocks, festoon lighting, and outdoor dining tables.

When you stay in the Luxe Teepees, you’ll also have access to all the great activities and perks that the Westgate River Ranch Resort offers such as horseback riding, trap and skeet shooting, access to the adventure park, airboat rides, and more. Teepee guests are permitted to use the resort’s golf carts as well and will be offered VIP seating for the Saturday night rodeo. Overnight all-inclusive rates for the Luxe Teepees starts at $450 per night, based on double occupancy.

The Luxe Teepees were created after Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo received positive feedback from guests for their glamping options offered in 2013. The resort spent the following year establishing a more elaborate village for glamping enthusiasts.
