Marriott Vacation Club Opens New Gold Coast, Australia Resort

If you’re a Marriott timeshare owner, pack your bags for a trip down under!

Marriott Vacation Club has just announced the opening of a brand new vacation ownership property in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Australia. Named the Marriott Vacation Club at Surfers Paradise, the new resort will take the place of the existing Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa.

Marriott is in the process of extensive renovations and remodels of the 88 rooms at the resort. New units will take the form of deluxe guestrooms and one bedroom suites, some of which can be combined into two bedroom villa-style accommodations for larger groups. Additionally, all units will be equipped with standard timeshare furnishings like free WiFi, flat screen TVs, and daily housekeeping services.

For Stephen Weisz, president and CEO of Marriott Vacations Worldwide, the change is about providing something new to club members and owners:

“We’ve redefined the Australian vacation experience by matching the unique amenities and activities of the famous Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa with the signature hospitality and service of Marriott Vacation Club. Our guests will be immersed in the best of Australia’s Gold Coast, enhanced with Marriott quality and attention to detail.”

The resort will still maintain its current breathtaking amenities, like saltwater lagoons perfect for swimming, on-site snorkeling, tropical gardens, exquisite dining, and a full-service health spa. For the active travelers, bike rentals and tennis courts will be available on-site, with championship golf courses a short drive away.

Of course, the beach is the main attraction. Surfers Paradise experiences about 300 days of sun per year, making it one of the best beach destinations in the world. This is primarily what led Marriott to upgrade the property to a vacation club, as timeshare owners and prospective buyers will undoubtedly love the warm Pacific waters. Gold Coast is not short of amazing things to see and do, and other attractions can be found just hours away throughout Queensland.

Reservations are available now and Marriott Vacation Club members can inquire today for their next trip. To learn more about the resort, visit Marriott’s official site.
