Wyndham Vacation Ownership Makes Healthiest Employers List
Tuesday, August 9, 2016
A recent study by Orlando Business Journal has named Wyndham Vacation Ownership as one of Central Florida’s healthiest places to work. The company’s 9 resorts and corporate headquarters in Greater Orlando employ more than 3,000 people and are widely recognized for the health services and weight loss support systems put in place for their associates.
Wyndham Vacation Ownership’s “Be Well Services” allowed the company to stand out among other employers. The program focuses on promoting nutrition, fitness, lifestyle management, wellness, and creating a better work and home environment for employees. The corporate offices include a board certified nurse practitioner on-site for employees to see free of charge. Wyndham employees can also benefit from the on-site fitness center, health fairs, biometric screenings and flu shots.
Wyndham Vacation Ownership CFO Mike Hug, who is also the executive sponsor of the wellness program, said:
“At WVO, we believe that health and wellness lay the foundation for both professional and personal productivity, achievement and fulfillment. We take a holistic approach through a comprehensive offering of benefits and special initiatives and resources, with many services available at low or no additional cost to our associates. We want to encourage our associates to embrace healthy lifestyles and are committed to supporting them every step of the way.”
Other benefits of WVO’s “Be Well Services” include quarterly blood drives, in-house breast cancer and skin cancer screenings, and an Employee Assistance Program provided by Cigna Behavioral Health.
