Wyndham Vacation Ownership Named Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation

Wyndham Vacation Ownership

Wyndham Vacation Ownership was recently awarded the 2016 Heart of Florida United Way Award for being an “Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation” by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Florida Chapter.

This award is presented to the corporation that makes philanthropy in the Central Florida community a real priority and is a large asset in encouraging others to do the same and get involved. President and chief executive officer at Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Franz Hanning is thrilled with the recognition, stating:

“We are truly honored to be recognized with the “Outstanding Philanthropic Award” from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. At Wyndham, strengthening our communities and making a positive difference in the lives of others defines who we are as a company. Among our core values is our relentless commitment to improve the world around us, and we encourage all associates to support the communities where they live and work. I am incredibly proud of our passionate, engaged associates who are responsible for bringing to life our Count On Me! service culture each and every day.”

Wyndham Vacation Ownership was nominated by the leadership team at Shepherd’s Hope for this award. Shepherd’s Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides free medical care to the uninsured and the underinsured throughout Central Florida. Wyndham Vacation Ownership has been a huge supporter of this organization since 2010, offering volunteer service and donations. Notably, they sponsor the annual Shepherd’s Hope Celebrity Golf Classic that has generated over one million throughout the years to provide care for nearly 12,000 individuals who wouldn’t otherwise been able to receive it.

This year will be the 50th anniversary of Wyndham Vacation Ownership. They will celebrate the brand’s incredible legacy and strong commitment to giving back to the community. In just the past two years, they have donated $73,000 and countless volunteer hours at Give Kids the World Village (a storybook resort in Kissimmee for families with children facing life-threatening illnesses). Wyndham Vacation Ownership has also supported organizations such as SeriousFun Children’s Network Camps and Camp Boggy Creek.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership also offers their associates one paid day off each year to participate in community service, allowing them to personally give back to the local area.
