ClubCorp Adds New Philadelphia Property
Wednesday, March 1, 2017
ClubCorp, an industry-leader in providing high quality private golf and country clubs, is adding a new property to its portfolio. The North Hills Country Club, located just outside of downtown Philadelphia, will be the latest country club to join the brand, and will offer a championship golf course and multiple dining options for club members.
The North Hills Country Club includes a classic championship golf course with original designs by J. Franklin Meehan. Club owners at the property also have access to both casual and upscale dining options, a swimming complex with three pools, and a private event space that houses up to 200 individuals. ClubCorp plans to invest millions of dollars into updating and renovating the property to create a complete experience for club members.
What’s more, existing members of the North Hills Country Club will be welcomed by ClubCorp. Members will be able to participate in special ClubCorp initiatives, like their Optimal Network Experiences program, which extends dining discounts, complimentary greens fees, and access to more than 300 private clubs. Members may also receive discounts and benefits at more than 1,000 hotels, resorts, and venues spread across the country.
ClubCorp COO, Mark Burnett, said of the acquisition:
“We are proud to add North Hills Country Club, an exceptional club rich in history and family traditions, to our portfolio of clubs. The club allows us to expand to three clubs in the Philadelphia market, perfectly complementing our Hartefeld National club in Avondale and the newly reinvented Pyramid Club located downtown.”
Del Markward, president of the North Hills Country Club, spoke about the club’s members attitudes toward the acquisition, stating:
“The members are extremely excited about ClubCorp acquiring North Hills. They are a world-class organization that brings an expansive network of benefits and opportunities and a proven track record of improving newly acquired clubs. This is a win-win relationship for our club, the members and ClubCorp.”
