Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Earns World’s Most Ethical Company Distinction

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has been recognized as one of the 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. Wyndham is committed to acting with integrity and making hotel travel and vacation possible for all. This is the first global accolade for Wyndham and builds on their history of recognition by Ethisphere.

“In our first year as a new public company, today’s recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is continued reaffirmation of the inclusive, values-driven culture instilled in our team members by our former parent, Wyndham Worldwide,” said Geoff Ballotti, president and chief executive officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Strong ethics are the foundation of our corporate culture, with integrity being one of our Company’s core values.”

The designation of the World’s Most Ethical Companies recognizes those that align principle with action, work to make trust part of their DNA, and by their example, shape the future industry standards by demonstrating best practices.

Not only do those who have effective compliance programs make ethical decisions, but they also outperform like-companies.

Samantha Vaughan, group vice president, corporate compliance and chief privacy officer added:

“Our ethical business practices foster great experiences and brand loyalty for our guests and for Wyndham Rewards members, as well as our Wyndham Hotels & Resorts team members.”

Some of the Wyndham ethical practices have lead towards accomplishments including:

  • Creating a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Developing new training programs and awareness initiatives that train hotel property-based team members on acceptable business standards in regards to compliance and ethical decision making
  • Working to protect human rights by providing proper training and awareness tools to identify human trafficking

The assessment for the World’s Most Ethical Company is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient framework that offers a comprehensive way to assess a company’s performance in an objective, consistent, and standardized way. Scores are generated in five categories including: ethics and compliance program, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance, and leadership and reputation.
