Interval International

One of the leaders in external exchange services for vacation ownership brands, Interval International, recently honored the CEO of Morritt Properties Cayman Ltd., David Morritt, for his continued contributions to the Cayman Islands’ tourism industry. Interval International also recognized Hon. Moses Kirkconnell, Cayman Islands’ deputy premier and minister of District Administration, Tourism and Transport, for his leadership in the tourism sector.

Interval International presented these awards during a reception the company hosted in recognition of the 30th anniversary of Morritt’s Resort. Morritt’s executive team and resort staff, government officials, and industry partners all attended the event.

“We are very proud to recognize David for his extraordinary vision and enduring commitment to shared ownership,” said Marcos Agostini, Interval International executive vice president of business development. “Morritt’s Resort has been an important factor in the economic growth of the East End community and, in turn, the Cayman Islands’ tourism industry.”

Morritt’s Resort first opened in 1989 and has expanded to include three properties and is currently the country’s largest shared ownership developer. The property also has plans for a $30 million expansion that will include a seven-story building as the centerpiece of the resort.

During the event, Interval International highlighted the accomplishments of Hon. Kirkconnell including encouraging investment in the country’s tourism sector and ongoing support of shared ownership.

Under Hon. Kirkconnell, the Cayman Islands have experienced considerable growth in visitors arrivals. This is partially attributed to the country’s commitment to infrastructure development, including a $67 million dollar expansion project at Owen Roberts Airport.
