All-inclusive vacation pioneer, Club Med, has just shared findings from its multigenerational family vacation research study and the creation of its newest Amazing Family program concept to encourage and foster better family vacations at their resorts.

After finding in their research that families vacationing together are most focused on “intergenerational bonding” and “family togetherness” when deciding on where they will travel, Club Med has created a new in-resort program with weekly activities that will provide families the opportunity to bond, spend time together, reconnect, spark new passions, and create lasting memories.

Club Med’s VP of Marketing and Digital Sabrina Cendral stated:

“When creating a new product offering, it’s important for us to dive into what our guests—and potential future guests—need, want, and look for when planning their next family vacation. Only then can we truly create immersive experiences that fulfill their expectations. To create this program, our teams initiated a global research project to analyze the travel priorities of multigenerational families, broken down by their respective markets. Our teams found similarities across the board, which led to the creation of the worldwide Amazing Family concept.”

These Amazing Family program activities can be broken down into five categories and are part of their resorts’ all-inclusive vacation packages:

Time to Splash—Water volleyball, splash zones, slip and slides, etc.
Time to Play—Giant-sized family board games, etc.
Time to Quest—Treasure hunts, challenges, etc.
Time to Recharge—Family yoga, storytime, etc.
Happy Family Time—Resort sports and activities, etc.

Cendral also added:

“Our goal with the new Amazing Family program is to encourage families to put their phones down, disconnect from everyday stressors and reconnect with their families to create lasting memories. Our resorts are built with multigenerational families in mind and are equipped with the finest amenities and activities, at no extra cost. Now we want to take the extra step to ensure that our guests can maximize their vacations while they stay with us, and to provide them with the tools necessary to fulfill their expectations.”

Club Med began its testing phase in Club Med Punta Cana of its North American and Caribbean segment in May 2019 and has since been officially rolled out at the resort. The program will expand to Club Med Caravelle in October 2019, Club Med Cancun Yucatan in November 2019, and Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda in November 2019. By 2021, the company anticipates over 30 resorts around the world to have this program available to guests and owners.

To ensure the success of this program at each resort, there have been new Amazing Family positions created with two dedicated family entertainment experts available at each property. Their responsibility will be to encourage families to spend time together during their vacations and use the resources available to them.
